First of all, Lucy has quite the good story with her, just Like Erza's story, you can't kill off someonw who actually works hard for their own life, she could have stayed at home and leech her daddy off, she just left cuz she didn't like it, that is one big factor for me being her fan, second is Lucy has very nice proportions, i'm a hater of big boobs, but she and Erza are just fine, also, although Erza is very powerful, no one can deny that, her resilience is close to impregnable, her resolve is unbreakable, and Lucy is close to that, although her power is still just growing, and she has a long way to match Erza in skill, she is already quite strong, she cares about her spirits, and she can defend herself without their help with a whip, I'd say she has thought her strategy quite well, unlike some other wizards out there.
Lucy and Erza are probably the best at what they do, and I'm not counting Juvvia since her powers are manipulation of water or Mirajane who can transform into quite the creatures. Or the booze drinking Kana (think I spelled her name right) but ! the yare not teamed up with a hotheaded Salamander and a cool headed nudist ! LOL !
That team may have quite a lot of flaws, but they look after each other like none other, i'm expecting Wendy to join Fairy Tail and join their team
(no i do not read the manga so if that actually happens I will be positively surprised
