I think the show does well enough. I dont think there is any real reason to cancel it unless they run out of stuff to turn into anime. Right now that isnt really a problem the manga is alot farther than the anime still. I mean the only reason they canceled D Gray-man was because the artist was sick for several months and they had nothing to work with. Most shows like Bleach and One Piece etc never take breaks for more than 1 week.

I'd be disappointed if they ended it before he finds Igneel.

Actually the manga is not that far ahead as you might think. Its only 1 arc ahead and that one aint even close to ending.

I can honestly see them stopping the anime on this arc since its pretty much a given that
(click to show/hide)
So them ending it on this arc.... yeah and to be honest a part of me wants it to end so that they don't pull a Bleach or a Naruto and destroy the series. By adding fake fillers with terrible storyline or stretch out eps when nothing really happens.

They did it with Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn, that manga is still going and the actual anime stop 1 arc before it caught up with the manga.

So far all the fillers were excellent, unlike Naruto's or supposedly other long term shows like that, you should have more faith in the producers. I'm sure they know how bad things can go, and can you actually say if any Fairy Tail filler was not entertaining and interesting ?

Hell no, your absolutely right all the fillers have been excellent, but all they've been part of the manga to a certain extent. Besides its kind of hard to have faith on production when there is a history of just plain bad fillers in almost every long term series.

Then we can count on Erza to make things entertaining :)
But seriously, the studio doing FT isn't failing one bit, every episode was fun and entertaining, even the sadder episodes were excellent work, I will have faith until they fail, then, and only then, I will start rant.
It doesn't get us anywhere by complaining how bad this can become since the producers have no intention of turning it into soap opera (in a manner of speech) that many fans will start hating, we rarely get an anime that is very decent, and since FT is incredibly decent, I say, let them spoil us with some minimum changes that make the story all the better or funny, and lets have faith that they don't over do it, as they haven't yet, so no worries for a long time, and I seriously doubt it will end at 96th episode :)

Now that it's over, I don't see anyone trying to bring it back, D-Gray.Man did the same. However shameful the non-cannon can be, at least when the manga is continued there is still a place for it on television. You can simply choose not watch it, in which case it's not much different than going off the air temporarily for you.

I think Fairy Tail filler would be better than most, just because of how the series is set up. Most of the enjoyment is with the characters and their combinations, the plots are generally pretty simple, and the base material is open to a wide possibility of events. They simply have to go on a job again, to get a story started. In Bleach and Naruto, not only do they have to fit everything into their main story line - or completely ignore it and thus lose any momentum they had to that point - they also have to ensure that all the events in the non-cannon lead back to precisely how things were before going off cannon. They are extremely predictable, as well as usually two or three steps beneath the cannon in quality. Fairy Tail doesn't really have much concerns about that.

They could drop the ball, and have a notable drop in quality - but thus far they haven't proven it.

IDK know about that. The last 4-6 ep filler series was kinda lame, the only thing that made it bearable was the comedy aspect the characters have so I'd say its border line as far as the quality of the fillers.

Keep in mind there is One Piece out there which trumps both Naruto and Bleach in eps and it has had very very few fillers and no filler arc has passed 11 eps... MOST the fillers in One Piece are handles well, others not so much

Episodic filler generally sucks, though, I think a filler arc with Fairy Tail wouldn't be doomsday as far as the franchise is concerned.

So, Earthland's Natsu can't handle transportation, that much we know, but Edolas's Natsu can't handle standing on ground ?

Lol, I was wondering about that. Though making him all "Lolz, I can ride on trains, cars and other stuff easily." in front of our Natsu could have been fun too.

Well, just found out that "Ryugan" might be dropping Fairy Tail if they don't get a TL within the next couple of weeks and was wondering which fansub group you guys were following?

I believe I tried Kyuubi and Tsuki before and both (if memory serves me right, eps 1-10 Kyuubi and 45-52 Tsuki) were riddled with typos and naming inconsistencies.

So, any suggestions as to a decent fansub group with good QC/proofreader?

Horriblesubs is good enough for me, they get it out quick and there's nothing ostentatiously wrong to complain about. as far as Fairy Tail goes at least.

HS rip from CR and there are no annoying errors, as far as I see CR actually works hard on this show, unlike others, mostly :)
So I go with HS as well.

And on that note, the story turns pretty dramatic, I was expecting Gajeel for a second but then i saw those slimy restraints so I knew it was the army, still I expect Gajeel sooner or later.

Very good episode, I want the new soundtracks !

I'm sorry but that Iron dragon episode was terrible filler, you could tell they were avoiding the plot. If it's true that the novel is only ahead by 1 arc then they're doomed the moment the crystal returns back to normal.

Expect 20 ep filler comprised of endless VS's.
Did you know Satan was supposedly gods RIGHT HAND MAN, not his left. Blows your theory out of the water now doesn't it.
