Yeah - I love it how all of the tech backwards people are raving about it - "ZOMG- it's the first handheld computing device with a telephone built in! "

( Yeah.   Uh, they've been around for years before your iPhone.  Learn moar tech. )

geoffreak ~ Nail on the head - almost.  AT&T & the mac-exclusive SDK are my problems with the iPhone.  They need to lose the mac-only SDK.   That will blow up their market.

( "Oh, but the iphone only supports the fudgepack toolset of mac-os-goatse-point-five milfy cougar edition" ... yeah, things can be done to work around that.  There's something called: EMULATOR.   Oh, but the iPhone is too powerful.  [SMACK upside the temple with a spiked cudgel.    Yes, indeed, oh lord iPhone your power is too great for our humble desktops ... these mac purists with their stupid arguments.   Please.  Even the iPhone won't mainstream the mac. ] )

[ side rant:  Why in the fuck can everyone but me get into a fucking corporate IT department.   Fuck this shit. ]

With the iPhone, people actually have to work hard to find things to complain about. ;)
It is funny because I work as an intern in the IT department of the company I'm working for, so I get to see things from a corporate perspective. The company currently deploys Blackberries to most of the employees, but recently many employees have been wanting iPhones, so we've finally decided to start supporting them. The biggest irony is our most outspoken anti-iPhone staff, after having an iPhone for about 48 hours, is now our most pro-iPhone.
Short of the people who hate AT&T (prices, coverage, dropped calls) or are just completely tech-retarded, I haven't met anyone who has wanted to not use an iPhone after a couple days of use. If you can get it, get it.

I'm not the type of person who likes smart phones. That's why I don't like the iphone. True, Smart phones includes all the above including blackberry, iPhone, Nokia N Series etc. I tinkered with the Nokia N series, interface pissed me off to shit. iPhone interface wasn't bad, but I really got annoyed at it really quick. (Was toying with a friend's jailbreaked Gen 1 one when he took off running with the BBPearl.)

I hate the typing style, the thing is ungodly to hold (slippery, but I hear there's ways around it) . Phone... Beyond the fact you can get used to using the weirdness of the shape, flatness of the phone, screwy weight distribution etc. I really hated the phone. It was like I was using a piece of shit CDMA phone all over again. (Probably fixed in the later gens, but why bother going later gen after the original gen?)

Don't get me wrong though, you can hate macbooks and still like the iphone. However, I don't like either. I hate the iTouch and iPhone interface even if it's "simple". I wouldn't mind grabbing an ipod for random music to listen in the car(easier playlists), but beyond that... Don't bother me with the touch and the iphone.

They can. I disagree with them on a number of things currently. It's just kind of silly when people start attacking their products with insubstantial statements simply because they don't like the company for some odd reason.

For example, if someone complained about the lack of carrier variety with the iPhone, I'd wholeheartedly agree with them. Basically, if you want to complain, please do so about a real issue.

Don't take that personally.

It doesn't mean that because they disagree with you means they're wrong.

You know lacking in the iphone? MMS

I never understand why people could buy things first then find use for it later. Too many people buy expensive smartphones just because "OMFG it's so advance and cool!111!!".
