Is MMS really that big of a deal? I seriously never used it before I got my iPhone, and once AT&T enables it I'm sure I won't use it then.

If you really need to send a picture to somebody it has this amazing feature called email that can magically send pictures to people that don't even have cellphones. ZOMG!

It is funny because I work as an intern in the IT department of the company I'm working for, so I get to see things from a corporate perspective. The company currently deploys Blackberries to most of the employees, but recently many employees have been wanting iPhones, so we've finally decided to start supporting them. The biggest irony is our most outspoken anti-iPhone staff, after having an iPhone for about 48 hours, is now our most pro-iPhone.
Short of the people who hate AT&T (prices, coverage, dropped calls) or are just completely tech-retarded, I haven't met anyone who has wanted to not use an iPhone after a couple days of use. If you can get it, get it.

not really if you genuinely want the iphone as a phone there a dozens of phones that are without question leaps and bounds over the iphone in both sound quality signal quality speakerphone quality, talk time on battery life and stand by.

I being someone who doesnt care if my phone does 90 different things i have a motorolla Q global which has one of the best speakerphones ive ever used on a phone for clarity and volume

Here in my country yes. Text and MMS are a big deal here since most people use their phones for texting most of the time and not calling. People here don't pay tens of dollars just to send around 200 texts. They pay around 40 cents (US) for an all day unlimited texting service.

I love my htc touch pro. With a cooked rom. It does everything I need and acts just the way I want it to. Battery life could be a little better. But cant complain to much. I looked at the iphone briefly and was turned off by the controls. And im used to a full slide out keyboard now. And at the time. They did not have office, copy past, or tethering Which I need.

To tell the truth Apple was smart. And most iphone users were kinda dumb. Not a direct attack on anyone. But the 3G 3.0 os and 3GS should have been the first phone to come out. You have had people buy 2 phones and some will probably by the 3GS also making it 3 phones in less then 3 years. talk about cash cow. When the 1st gen came out 3g had already been around, att already had 3g phones which all had mms and tethering. Now i understand that all the new customers would put a strain on there service. If I did my math right. They would have had to add 1,700 new cell towers just to support the new iphone users that were with other carries before cant really bitch and moan to much about that. but Still think the new one should have came out first and just limited its potential but still have it.

you will never hear me slam apple from a business perspective they run their business incredibly well.
As a consumer i hate their bag of shit company. They build their products pre obsolete. When you buy an apple product your buying 1 or 2 fancy looking features and 98% old technology.

They also build nearly everything they have to lock you into what you have expansion or changing what you have is a no no unless you wish to pay apple to do it at a premium price. I will probably never buy an apple product for myself as the one apple product i purchased i was extremely dissatisfied with and returned promptly(literally the next day). It was an ipod.
