l think l'll waste time and watch this anime.

btw, Fate/ Stay Night anime and game are two different things, while in the game we have 3 arcs with 5 endings the anime is yet another arc of Fate in wich everything develops quite differently and end pretty the same way as in Fate arc, if you played the game you should know that Shirou wasn't very smart magus cuz he wasn't trained at all, you don't expect someone to do something he wasn't tought to know how do you, his bravado (or stupidity to hurt himself) is caused by his morals and ethics, don't blame brains for that.

I actually got the VN for Umineko (legally

), and besides the art seeming fairly low quality compared to the last two VNs I have played (FSN and Clannad), the music and storyline are quite good so far. If the anime follows the VN then people who actually stick around should be in for a nice surprise.

No,no.I didn't say that Shirou is a stupid magus.I said Shirou is an idiot as in dumb,very very dumb or slow,very very slow or "special",God's "special" friend.What I'm trying to say is that Shirou appears to be mentally handicapped.I do believe a few buildings fell on his head when he was a child.That kind of stupid.
There are tons of situations where it's shown,in the game...that I'm playing right now so no "ifs".
Oh,he is also a sexist.

I was wondering.You guys said that this anime is bad.I agree.It does suck and I lost interest in it from the first ep hence I stopped watching it.Why are you still following it?

if it follows the game as Ane says there might be a surprise turn around, l'll DL the current eps when l get back home and watch em. but l'm more intrested in them releasing final OVA for Higurashi -rei ep 5.

looks like Rika finaly is free of all the bad stuff that happened and that makes me glad ;]

If you stopped watching then get out of the thread, and go complain about shirou in the Fate/Stay Night thread. I'm sure Tatsujin will write a few books for you on why YOU are the one that is, in fact, the idiot. I am actually enjoying Umineko currently as well as reading the novel and would not like to see this topic disappear at episode three.

Shirou is, in fact, dumb as a Magus, not as a human, for the beginning parts in the anime and the beginning of the game. In the anime, there isn't so many things that get explained ... most are just giving 'hints' about characters, etc. You wanna understand the characters? You wanna know who really Shirou is and how he acts? Play the visual novel.

For the record, Shirou challenged stronger characters than Berserker in the anime (spoiler: Dark Bersker, Saber Alter, Archer, and many more). So yes, you aren't the only person who thinks and dislike Shirou in the beginning ... but afterwards, Shirou does play a stronger role as not only the main character in the anime, but as a person who will do anything for his desires and wishes, and for others too. Keep this thread fixed on Umineko no Naku Koro ni ... place all your discussions about Fate/Stay Night in the thread that's floating around.

Yes,I stopped watching and I'm still reading and posting in this thread.I do have a reason:to find out if I'm missing something...ah no,I'm lying.Truthly,I liked the action between xShadow and the others.I'm hoping to see more of this.Also,reading something like this "battler punching maria was amusing" makes want to give it a second chance.Aren't you glad that I'll be watching and liking it and agreeing with you?

Edit:Ah damn,can't translate it.Anyway,if the first ep is bad everything is probably going to be bad.If it's good it doesn't mean that everything will be good.

if you want to go on about Shirou, Play the game instead, and say something then, hes a half assed Magus, he admitts it himself, but he does what he can, and most of the time he does things he shouldn't do at all.

I only seen the First season and Second season. What other seasons are there? Is there an OVA or something?

higurashi no naku koro ni Rei <is a 5 episodes season, Ova like, worth watching, 4 eps are up, 5th will be out in half of august, but its worth wathing, some new things come up, some are scary but you just have to see it.

But ep 04 actually wasn't completely horrible! Battler gained some points for punching Maria, and the part when Kanon gets killed was pretty damn amusing. Everything else is still weak as hell, but hey, it got better.
I only hope Maria doesn't get too broken after what happened at the end(or get shot by Natsuhi), since she's the main source of amusement in Umineko, and without her crazy antics it would get much duller.

The anime actually adapts the game pretty well (aside from compressing it into a weekly 20 minute program), the only things that are lost are character development and backstory. Which are sacrificed for the plot.

On the upside, Maria has become one of my favorite, if not my all-time favorite, kid character. Her evilness is very infectious!

They pretty much have to get over the deaths quickly since they all think that someone in the house is the murderer. If they drop their guard for too long than they can be next. The greatest part of this whole episode is when Battler tosses the protection charm to Maria and tells her he lied about losing it. She gets this ridiculously evil grin as if to say 'I already knew because I couldn't kill you'. The characters showed a lot more action in this episode than the other ones and their characters are really starting to show now.

I feel like this is the turning point episode. They read the epitaph on the wall and it had large numbers of people being killed all the way up until this coming day where it starts being one person at a time. After seeing Higurashi I fully believe that Beatrice exists in some form; however, after hearing some of the deductions they came to this episode it has me wondering if it truly is all magic or not.

l just been tru ep 2, l think you guys are too harsh, you got used to the anime where the main story revolves quickly, in this anime they build background first so they can lay the main dish elegantly, after all this is a unique area, and yeh Maria is a cute lil gal, l like her, but l like Rika-chan from Higurashi a lot more ;]

l'll wait for more development, too bad that girl had to die, oh well...

but the story says about 13 sacrifices so 7 more, l wonder who it will be ;]

after seing ep 4, to me it's all good, the plot is pacing up, it might be a nice series after all of your rambling.
maybe you should re-watch theeps to notice what l spoke, but seriously, you ppl got used to fast paced anime plots, and lost enjoyement of slow development.

I agree that parts of the series are getting better, the story in particular. And seeing a death happen first-hand was pretty cool too. But everything else got worse I think. I'll concede the grieving point, you're right. But the stupidity of the characters... I won't back down on that It's not difficult to stay alive in a situation like this... simply STAY TOGETHER! Unless the killer is Natsuhi (since she has a gun and could potentially kill them all without getting killed herself), the murderer can't act. There's no way a "normal" person (taking Beatrice out of the equation for the time being) could kill one of them without the others knowing... thus keeping them all alive. It's common sense, which apparently none of the characters have If Beatrice is the killer, then they're all screwed regardless of what they do (again though, it still goes against common sense to split everyone up). The only one with enough knowledge of magic, the spell thingers on the doors and the like is Maria... and she's already sided with Beatrice apparently.

the young are a bit smarter than the older ones so don't go on all of them, the young ones at least try to think, the rest are only thinking about money.
