Finally got around to watching this. Often heard people were let down. Very likely they associated it with Higurashi too much. I went in without the Higurashi comparisons, I took it for what it was and it was pretty great, can't wait for the second season.

Just like Higurashi the gory murders for the first few episodes did give me the chills, but once you ease in it's fine.

Creepy child is always creepy :O

Not as much attachment to the characters compared to Higurashi.

For the final episode at the very end, I do have my own idea at the outcome. Makes me wanna try out the VN, but I like the anime animation too much convert over to poorly drawn in the VN (also still have to go through Fate S/N & Clannad, so I don't really have much time for another VN)

Watch it without the expectations of Higurashi and it is a good show to watch.

I loved the story for what it was(and the fact that I was so hooked up to it because I felt like I was reading a murder/mystery novel 8D).
This is an anime that takes more time to understand than the time you put in to watch it <3

Although the story was very different from Higurashi's, I'm still persuaded that some of the characters had something to do with Higurashi ^^

yeh, namely, voice actors ?

well the characters are a bit like in Higurashi, but nothing beats Higurashi story, the two titles are their own unique things, l like both of them, surprisingly l don't see much hentai about both titles, and there is huge room for it, maybe it's for the better.

altough in Higurashi l found myself liking all female characters and the main guy, in Umineko l only like Beato Maria and that furniture chick, nothing else was good enough to me, altough the bunny servants and the purgatory sisters were sexy and cute, there wasn't anything remarkable about them.

That and(maybe I'm pushing it) the fact that Bernkastel and Lambdadelta's last ''game''(confrontation in which Lambdadelta lost) was in fact

Visual Novel of Umineko was released and pre-patched with PS3 and voices. The full game is over 6 Gigs and a lot of people are praising it. Find it at Fuwanovel. You are welcome.

Edit -- PS3 images (additional scenes and images).
