Lots of people dying is pretty much a part of the premise, I could only accept it as a redeeming feature if it was unexpected.

(click to show/hide)Well i guess the plot and the questions that are raised by it, they make it intresting for me. When i say plot i mean the basic events; peeps come to island, possiblity of an unknown person on it with them,  half the guests get slaughtered and now left with a big mystery. Providing that the VN's storyline is very strong and has a good ending it might make up for the poor writing and bad direction the anime seems to be suffering from. guess only time will tell.

One question though. Do you already consider this anime a lost cause despite that it's only on ep 2 outta who knows how many? im guessing it will be 24 total eps by the end.

Done yet? Good.

I had no idea this was the next season of Higurashi. No wonder there's been so much talk of it intertwined with everything. How was I supposed to know? With a name like Umineko no Naku Koro ni... I sure in hell don't see "Higurashi" in that. I'm so pissed now. I never would've started watching this if I had known. Sorry, but watching the same event over and over with different viewpoints is stupid and repetitive as hell. The ONLY way it can work is if there's two viewpoints in total. One from the main guy... and one from the killer. That's it! Every other viewpoint is shit.

I'm going to drop this series once it starts to repeat and I'll judge the series based off that. I refuse to watch more than that.
(click to show/hide)I'm only interested in knowing if Beatrice is real or not, and if she's the killer.

I went and watched this after seeing this thread, and I have to say that I think this could be a decent series. The premise is good, and even though you can see what's coming a mile away, this might turn out all right. I'm not really getting the same Higurashi vibe, but perhaps it will get better as it goes on. Hopefull I'll develop some empathy for the characters.

And I don't think the girl has annoying noises. They fit her stupid insecure character rather well.

Please tell me you're joking. You really don't realize how ridiculously overdone is this premise is?

The only thing that can get better(and I assume it will, otherwise all the people that played the game have been lying to me) is the story. Writing, dialogues, direction, art, all that probably won't get better. And no matter how good your story is, if you can't tell it properly it's not going to be interesting.

Why the fuck did you even write it then? If you're not interested in hearing opinions that might differ from yours, why even take part in discussion?

Because I'm allowed an opinion? I'm more than interested in other people's opinions. I'm saying the concept is stupid as hell. As for the series so far, it's pretty damn bad. That's before I knew it was a Higurashi series. There's not a single likable character. The plot, while initially interesting, is getting weaker. The drama and emotion is forced. The only interesting part is Beatrice.
