Umineko no Naku Koro ni

<< < (13/98) > >>

Nikran:
I have a theory that the little girl has been programmed/conditioned by the so-called bad guy and her "Uuuuuuuuuuuu" noises are designed to drive people crazy and distract them from discovering such tampering to her mind :D

That said, the link should be obvious; even if you don't speak a single word of Japanese, Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni is fairly similar to Umineko no Naku Koro Ni.

Alternative Titles
English: When the Seagulls Cry
Synonyms: When They Cry 3, When the Seagulls Cry, When They Cry - Seagulls

I do know a little japanese... but I never knew the full name of Higurashi... I just knew it as that. Not that long-as-hell name it was given :P

Sorry, but watching the same event over and over with different viewpoints is stupid and repetitive as hell. The ONLY way it can work is if there's two viewpoints in total. One from the main guy... and one from the killer. That's it! Every other viewpoint is shit.

It's a shame that you feel that way, because that device was one of the strong points of Higurashi (especially seeing as the main intrigue was asinine and deeply disappointing).

I know it sounds like a great way to do a series, but repetitiveness is just something I can't stand. Even if it is altered slightly each time... that's not enough.

IF this series doesn't start repeating the events, there's still a decent chance I'll enjoy it. Nothing has really happened up to this point that I'd want to see repeated. Wow... people arguing, a girl whining and a total perv of a main character. Oh yes, I really want to watch that again :P I can't even say that I like any of the cute girls... which is a first. They're all cookie-cutter characters... nothing new at all.

Because that's not like every other anime I've seen. Not at all.

Even a fan of said mysteries would surely balk at this.

Again, see above comment. What DOESN'T follow a winning formula these days? I'm simply willing to give this anime a chance, mostly because I loved Higurashi.

It's not something I'm complemented on very often, but thanks anyway.

Guess I misunderstood you then, sorry about that.
Anyway, did you even see Higurashi? Because from what you're saying it seems like you didn't ??? And it's not on your MAL.

Higurashi didn't really repeat events as such though; with the change in perspectives and choices, whole new scenarios unfolded. The things that didn't change were hints as to what was really going on behind the scenes, while the arcs provided in depth details about the cast; in an "uniform" timeline, this information could never have been presented; this approach actually has an advantage over traditional VN ports, since, by virtue of a single timeline, you lose a lot of information (see FSN for one of the better known examples).
