Yoku Wakaru Gendai Mahō
« on: July 05, 2009, 06:45:21 PM »
I didn't really intend to pick this up, but after seeing ep 00 I think I changed my mind. Sure, the main character is as annoying as expected, exactly the type of borderline retarded dojikko moeblob I hate, but the show itself is funny, and all the other girls are interesting, especially Kaho. Speaking of Kaho, she's another character this season played by Minako Kotobuki, after Umi Monogatari's Kanon. I rather like her, and I hope that it's not just her 15 minutes of(relative) fame, but a start of a career.
Not much to say about visuals, since the Bandai channel online broadcast was horrible quality. But the don't seem to be that bad.
All in all appears to be a silly, but enjoyable show.
Anyone see it yet? What are your thoughts?

I haven't seen it yet, but it really wasn't on my series of things to watch.  Didn't seem to interesting to me.  But if it gets a few good reviews I might pick it up.
I have typed these words and you have been forced to read them.  Now you can go cry in the corner if you like :)

Shit quality but a very enjoyable show. Another un-hyped gem this season. ;D

I made the mistake of grabbing Chihiro's release without even looking at the filesize. Luckily, a few seconds of EYERAPE was all the hideous thing could inflict upon me before I shut it down - permanently. I then proceeded to watch a slightly less atrocious release and I must say it was almost exactly what I'd envisioned; bland scenery, even blander characters (I'm not even going to comment on the protagonist) and a storyboard that should just be put out of its misery. It's easy to see who this show is meant for, so I'm not going to berate it any further; those who enjoy this form of nonsense "comedy" will no doubt appreciate it, seeing as it doesn't stray an inch from the mold.

Path, it's called web-only streaming. Wait for episode 1 before judging groups.

I'm not judging your group (I've had few issues with Chihiro releases), but if you release something like that, it will make eyes bleed. Those who want to see E 00 are better off with other alternatives, or waiting until you can find a better raw.

There were no alternatives. All available versions were really that bad.

I'll watch this once the entire season is complete. That way I can fast forward during the worst of the fan service and thus watch the decent/good parts only. Episode one didn't impress, was even considering dropping it to my blacklist during the first 2/3 of the episode.

(I have a very big weak spot for fantasy in current time frame.)

I'm afraid that you won't have much to watch then. And I like this show.
EDIT:
Seems I spoke prematurely. Actual episode one was... really bad. I'll give it one more episode, but I'm pretty sure I'll be dropping it. Episode 00 was funny, but this... just no.

question.. is this show censored or not? its listed as ecchi but im not sure if its cut or not. Right now i think just TV has been subbed, so id just snag that unless theres censorship. I didn't see anything come up when i searched sak complex, so i was wondering if anyone here knows

l like women's voice acting, so entralling most of the times, especially when you get to see some interview with them, totally different ppl lol, just by listening you'd think they are lively or gentle, and sometimes it's quite the opposite ;] Jap voice Act is superb ;]

There's not much to censor in this show. It's aired on a kid's network if I remember correctly.

There's considerable censorship, and considerable material to be censored.  I think you've got the wrong show Lupin.

umm... lol, ok so which is it?

i was curious because the premise sounded like it could have some ecchi connotations and its listed as about medium ecchi lvl on ADB. Was the TV version censored or not?

if so, are any groups even doing the DVDs or anything?

I don't seem to recall any censorship, but, three groups confirmed to be doing BDs. At least, announced.

outa curiosity how do you check on that kristen? When i look at ADB it pretty much just says which ones have DONE dvds/bd, ect, theres no listing for what groups decided to start on it

so thats 2 peoples aying they dont think its censored and one saying yes.. were you being sarcasting sdedalus? or do you really think there was censorship?

Why don't you watch/check it yourself? Or is your bandwidth that limited that you aren't able to download a (if at all) censored and uncensored version?

I too think it's uncensored.
