Okay someone... please explain just what this series was all about?? I watched 3 episodes and gave up... I couldn't understand what it was all about

if you were expecting pure action then yes, it's not just action, the best thing is how the converse between Araragi and the rest of the girls, this is however not a harem anime, but somewhat an Adventure genre, with a large amount of casual talk and situational teasing humour.

If youre not into this type of shows, skip it, but youre missing out a bunch of goodness.

a few pages ago someone said something about ferbuary, the post was soon edited, l am assuming ferburary since the ep 13 was aired/broadcasted online, about 2 months behind schedule (possible typo, not used to writing this word), so basing on experience, if they announce it will air january or late december tyou can expect delays by a month or two, thats not bullshit, it's simply how it often is with everything, theese days, nothing except books comes out as planned, eveything else usually ends up delayed for one reason or another.

Its exactly what the description on ANN says.
"Although there are still traces of the brief period he became a vampire, third year high school student Koyomi Araragi is human again. He happens upon others with their own supernatural problems and finds that he can empathize. Koyomi becomes involved in their lives, seeking to help them and occasionally asking for advice from Meme Oshino, the homeless man who helped him become human again."

Pretty much you are just watching his day by day life and each few episodes is an arch/story. Just watch it all and you'll just get what I mean. Its quite enjoyable after you start to understand everything. The plot is pretty straight forward lol.

It ain't too hard to understand it what its about. What is hard to understand is the whole arch/stories unless you actually pick up all the information it gives you.

I personally found it easy to understand and saw it as an enjoyable and simple anime to watch. Just take your time and you'll grow into it and understand it more.

I don't think there will be a group doing DVDs when blurays are available

blea, someone mentioned DVD versions. I guess im stuck with my amateur-hour tv versions then i guess. Ill probably just try to finish watching these i guess then if i can actually make it through i'll just check out the 13-15 and not worry about the 'fixed' versions

After reading the past few pages, couldn't seem to find an appropriate answer...
Can you watch episodes 1-12 and have it feel like a "complete" series? (ie are eps 13-15 just 'extras'?)

I'm anxious to get started on this one but I don't want any nasty cliffhangers that wont be resolved until February...

Actually, I believe that most of the other members would say it has ended there

13-15 ends the last arc. You'll understand when you have watched (I think) 11. But it doesn't feel like you would have the urge to know the end of that arc for it doesn't look like it needs some kind of an end.

as far as thre story between the two goes, yes, definitly ends in ep 12, and it had a very nice ending if you ask me, she has a nice dress as well :] you can enjoy it to the fullest, what we await is the remainder of the eps concerning the cat story :]

Not reading the rest of the thread because I've only just started watching this series. However, 2 eps in and using GG's subs I have seen a ton of untranslated kanji flash across the screen. It's especially frustrating at the beginning of ep 2 when there's clearly something being conveyed that I'm now completely in the dark about. Do the GG subs ever start translating that stuff? I could maybe see not translating that in the early eps if you aren't prepared and need to get someone to translate text, but if they are going to leave that stuff untranslated for the whole series, I'm going to have to find another sub group to watch this show. So did anyone watch the whole series with GG and does it get better as far as textual translations?

Love the show so far, though.

GG didn't sub the other stuff, don't remember which ones did however, l've already archived my versions and don't feel like checking it for a while, l need new eps (14-15) before l can say l really finished watching this show :]

If you want everything subbed, go watch qIIq's. Frostii would also be a good choice since they translated everything. Too bad they dropped it.

hmmm, I just finished watching the entire series GG's version, and I never noticed any untranslated text that seemed important. Are you talking about the (black) screens? Because I dont think any info is conveyed on those. Overall a fantastic show.

gg Didn't sub much of the on-screen text till episode 3 or so. it wasn't till qIIq did it that gg did it too.

Ended up getting 11 of 12 from qIIq so I don't know when gg started translating more on-screen text. You definitely lose out if you don't get that information. The beginnings of the episodes have a rapid fire stream of text that provides character and plot background some of which isn't actually shown directly in the series. There is also a great deal of background/environmental text that provides subtle commentary on events and characters (such as Hitagi's confession about her past happening specifically in a "middle school second grade" classroom; see also the frequent "Danger" and "Entry Forbidden" signs.)

Much like Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei you can get by without all the extra text translations but you're really missing out. Series that actually have even a modicum of depth and artistry (which is too rare in anime) should be fully appreciated. Sometimes it's not just about the plot and purty ppl (contrary to 95% of mainstream entertainment.)

l'm kinda surprised how many offers a moth come into BBT and are rejected, don't ppl know this show wasn't finished yet ? the TV end episode was only towards the main arc, where it had a really nice ending everyone enjoyed (l hope, l know l did enjoy it) but the series is bound to have 15 eps in total, l guess ppl dodn't read much and make those silly attempts.

I don't particularly blame them, though. Streaming the last three online was just a terrible idea. It seems especially silly since Bake became like SHAFT's biggest success recently, so the choice to put the last three episodes in terrible streaming quality...

shaft seems to have something about ep 7 in everything lately, DitVB ep 7 was also arse.
