Havoc10K:
And why would Japanese read that ? they hear quite well with their ears what is being said :D

Japanese don't need fansubs for Japanese dubbed shows :D

I'm talking about the on-screen text.....

Bob2004:
Yeah, the flashing text isn't really necessary to enjoy the show, it's nothing particularly important. Mostly just quotes from the book IIRC, so you're not really missing out on too much by not pausing the video every couple of seconds to read it.

It seems to be a fairly popular technique in this kind of Japanese comedy; I remember Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei was just as bad for it too.

I was kinda worried about that at first too but I decided to just keep watching the show. I'm glad. It's now one of my favorite shows of all time. Such great character, great humor, and it looks fuckin' beautiful. AND it got me to read faster. Is it me or does the dialog seem to be pretty fast paced in a lot of this show? Or maybe I've just been distracted by how good it looks....

TiYlER:
The first time I watched it a while ago I simply didn't read the text, but once I re-watched it a little bit ago I actually paused and read all the text :3
