I went ahead and ordered the LNs; if they're half as good as the adaptation, I'd consider it a worthy investment.

She's her old self :D and still aboard. The series is great. I love the scene after the fight with Hachikuji :D

Aye, Senjōgahara's still around, and just as great. Araragi's still as dense as always, but I support anything that'll make Hitagi shine all the brighter. My only complaint so far is the CG - while it does work with the art direction, it's still, well, CG. CG aversions are hard to overcome.

It's been a long time - too long - since I was this excited over a show. A must-see for everyone, with the possible exception of the ritalin-starved.

Did you find an English version of the novels and where to get, simply amazon? What would be the English titles of the novels?

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

Since most of the "action" is done by words I feel like I'm missing out because I can't speak Japanese.I have a fresh memory of such of an occasion
Ep 3:

Did anyone encounter the same problem? or is just me and my paranoia?

I'd have to watch the sequence again to be sure, but I believe she was talking about kanji and constituents (radicals at any rate) and the contemporary usage thereof. I imagine this might seem esoteric if you don't speak Japanese, or at the very least know some of the basics of kanji (and radicals).

I don't believe an English version exists, alas; I ordered the Japanese ones.

Yeah, I just looked up wiki and there's nothing mentioned about an English translation :(

Just finished episode 2, the first half of it was just awesome. =D

It's a long wait for qIIq, but I think I'll stick with them for TL notes + typesetting.

Same with me. Although I'll watch gg's when they release it but rewatch it when qIlq have released theirs :)

O.o I've seen 35 seconds of the first episode so far and I am impressed. Wow.

Anyway,

So, yeah, I paused the first episode after the first 35 seconds to make this post.
I will watch episode 1 from the 3 groups above and see which one applies to my tastes best and just stick with them until a better option comes up.

I gave in and watched episode 3 from gg. Wow, Senjogahara is so awesome. Seeing Araragi beat the crap out of a grade schooler was hilarious.  I think this'll be a show I stick with.

I decided to follow qIIq for now. I must say that I'm quite impatient waiting for episode 3. I really don't know why but it's kinda hard for me to keep up the pace with the general presentation of the plot. I mean, all those scenes when blocks of text appear suddenly, repeatedly, and disappear, am I the only one pausing and reading them every time?

I usually do one watch through and then watch it again pausing my way through it. For something like SZS I would pause it for each one though. I don't think it's exactly necessary for this. Anything worth pausing the first watch through for is usually on screen long enough to read.

Dito, though I watch the raw first. The suspense does things to me :'(

Anything worth pausing the first watch through for is usually on screen long enough to read.

Conversely, anything on the screen for too short a time to be read is unlikely to have any major ramifications; as you can't reasonably expect the audience to be able to partake of the information, logic dictates that you don't afford it too much space. Having said that, I still pause some scenes on subsequent viewings.

I still prefer the visuals of Ef, but seeing that SHAFT keeps pushing the medium is great. Too few studios dare to experiment with the possibilities that the medium offer, seeing as straying too far from the established molds often presets more of a risk than a chance.

Having reviewed the synopsis I'm forced to admit that I'm also looking forward to seeing Suruga Kanbaru.

So I finally got around to watching ep 02 from qIIq(having seen the gg version twice already), and I must say I like gg's translation a lot better. I hope frostii actually subs this, as I don't want to choose between a good translation or complete typesetting.

Yeah, this one wasn't that great. Probably because the conversation wasn't only between Araragi and Senjougahara.

Yeah, I believe it is. The 6th movie should be out on DVD soon.

Back to Bakemonogatari, I still enjoyed this episode even without as much back and forth banter between Araragi and Hitagi. Araragi is going to grow up to become quite the pedo.  :P

He's already practicing bribing grade school girls and knocking them unconscious.
