I got bored of waiting for my other weekly anime series (Umineko, Umi monogatari, and Tokyo Magnitude), so I grabbed all the current episodes of Canaan and Bakemonogatari. I had no idea what it was, who it was made by, the storyline, or anything about it. After the first episode I am bored, confused, and disappointed. There isn't a single element of this story that is believable. The dialogue had me wandering off into daydreams because it was boring me. The constant text was completely missed because I didn't want to pause the show every time a half-second wall of text appeared (honestly...can the Japanese even read fast enough to catch this?). I see wikipedia has it in the 'comedy' category where anidb doesn't. I think I have to agree with anidb. There wasn't anything funny, compelling, interesting, or exciting about this show. The girl with all the sharp school utensils is annoying and unbelievable as the character she was designed to be. The only thing I enjoyed was the artwork and that interesting pantsu shot right at the beginning. I'll keep watching until episode 3 in hopes it will get better, but if it keeps like this then I'm not wasting my time. I sure hope Canaan turns out better.
