Syzygia:
Watched ep. 5 before passing out last night (or early this morning, as the case may be.) All I can say is: love it! I had initially decided to give this series a pass, as the AniDB synopsis didn't sound all that interesting, but boy am I glad I changed my mind. Can't wait for the next 7 eps.  ;D

newy:
I didn't mean to say that I don't like the Senjougahara from ep5. It's just that her tsundere-like behavior became my defintion of her.

I like the way how she tries to show her affection for Araragi. I must admit that I forgot her background being a sex crime victim. Yes, with that in mind her development is great!

Do you guys still remember what the name of Hanekawa was? Could it be that the next story/chapter is about her?

(click to show/hide)She's a sex crime victim falling in love for the first time, a tsundere with a reason.  I really like the way their relationship is playing out.  With the show shaping up to be a rather unconventional harem anime, I get the feeling the biting sarcasm will return in full force whenever Araragi finds the next girl to help.
I wonder if they'll be pulling a Toradora! with a second season, scheduling the anime to correspond with the impending release of new entries in the novel series.  I thought that approach was much more satisfying than the typical attempt to either manufacture a conclusion from existing material, or to create an entirely new storyline beyond the progress of the incomplete source material.

Wait....there's a story here that people can actually understand? I can barely remember the names of people in this series (I wouldn't if I didn't see this topic with all their names) let alone any actual plot here. The only thing I remember is about Senjougahara's past, and that there may or may not be some love interest between araragi and senjougahara. To be honest, I actually fell asleep during episode 5 (almost in episode 4). Episode 4 consisted of talking, more talking, more talking, a small ecchi shot, more talking, still animations, more talking, and more talkingv(if you don't count all the random text that is unreadable). I probably wouldn't mind if they were talking about something that was even remotely understandable, but they just keep blathering on about nothing. I'll have to rewatch episode five unfortunately since I slept through most of it.

(click to show/hide)And what is up with the dude completely knocking out that little girl and no one even caring? The girl that came by and saw her didn't give a crap that a highschool boy completely punched a little girl and knocked her out? What? And why the heck would anyone strive so hard to get their weight back? She was like a super track star...What is weight even good for? Perhaps if someone could explain what the heck is actually going on I could follow this series a little better.
Oh yeah, was that a Dragonball reference in Episode 4 that I spotted?

I thought that was funny as hell when he knocked her out and started laughing. It was a seriously evil laugh too =P

(click to show/hide)To answer your questions...

1: It is revealed in ep 5 that Senjougahara couldn't see the little girl at all. The girl was a ghost all this time and Araragi could see her because of his desire not to return home. Senjougahara assumed she was the one that something was wrong with when her friend could see something she couldn't. so instead she played along and kept quiet about not being able to see a little girl.

2: Having almost no weight made her a freak more or less. Why would anyone want to live with something like that? Aside from that there's also the thing that her missing weight was sorta her painful memories that were taken away from her (I think that's right? Feel free to correct me if im wrong).

erious:
You're unable to understand this series. Most of the people don't have a problem with that.
Therefore, I don't think it's the series fault.
And no, I won't bother explaining anything - since I find it really hard to believe that anyone who's actually paying attention could completely fail to comprehend the(fairly straightforward) plot.
