Watched ep. 5 before passing out last night (or early this morning, as the case may be.) All I can say is: love it! I had initially decided to give this series a pass, as the AniDB synopsis didn't sound all that interesting, but boy am I glad I changed my mind. Can't wait for the next 7 eps.  ;D

I didn't mean to say that I don't like the Senjougahara from ep5. It's just that her tsundere-like behavior became my defintion of her.

I like the way how she tries to show her affection for Araragi. I must admit that I forgot her background being a sex crime victim. Yes, with that in mind her development is great!

Do you guys still remember what the name of Hanekawa was? Could it be that the next story/chapter is about her?

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

Interesting conclusion in episode 5 but I must agree, Senjougahara has become a lot more tame.

I wonder if they'll be pulling a Toradora! with a second season, scheduling the anime to correspond with the impending release of new entries in the novel series.  I thought that approach was much more satisfying than the typical attempt to either manufacture a conclusion from existing material, or to create an entirely new storyline beyond the progress of the incomplete source material.

Wait....there's a story here that people can actually understand? I can barely remember the names of people in this series (I wouldn't if I didn't see this topic with all their names) let alone any actual plot here. The only thing I remember is about Senjougahara's past, and that there may or may not be some love interest between araragi and senjougahara. To be honest, I actually fell asleep during episode 5 (almost in episode 4). Episode 4 consisted of talking, more talking, more talking, a small ecchi shot, more talking, still animations, more talking, and more talkingv(if you don't count all the random text that is unreadable). I probably wouldn't mind if they were talking about something that was even remotely understandable, but they just keep blathering on about nothing. I'll have to rewatch episode five unfortunately since I slept through most of it.

Oh yeah, was that a Dragonball reference in Episode 4 that I spotted?

I thought that was funny as hell when he knocked her out and started laughing. It was a seriously evil laugh too =P

You're unable to understand this series. Most of the people don't have a problem with that.
Therefore, I don't think it's the series fault.
And no, I won't bother explaining anything - since I find it really hard to believe that anyone who's actually paying attention could completely fail to comprehend the(fairly straightforward) plot.

Straightforward? Where the heck are you getting this? I understood the first 2 eps about Senjougahara, but then the episodes with everyone at the park and walking around town they just continued talking and talking and talking and talking and talking about stuff that wasn't even related to the final points they were getting at. Erious, you are completely incapable of seeing flaws in shows you like, and incapable of seeing good things in shows you hate. I've already said that I love the artwork in this series, and Senjougahara started out as a very interesting character with all those school supplies. The music is pretty good too. The quick 'series overview' type of sequence in episode one was awesome, though it doesn't seem to be playing out the way it showed at all. I'm making an effort to like this, but every time I point out flaws, you just call me stupid and provide no evidence otherwise.

@Nikran: Thanks for clearing that up.

Let's stick to the topic at hand shall we? Because if you're saying stuff like
Erious, you are completely incapable of seeing flaws in shows you like, and incapable of seeing good things in shows you hate.
then you really make me want to ignore you.
The quick 'series overview' type of sequence in episode one was awesome, though it doesn't seem to be playing out the way it showed at all.
...I take it that you're talking about the sequence showing events that took place prior to the start of the series? If you mistook that for a preview of things to come, then no wonder you're disappointed(though it's not impossible that those events will be revisited later in the series)
And yes, this series is as straightforward as possible for that kind of show. It's hard to even explain, because there's literally nothing to explain, other then describing the plot itself. You're telling me that characters interacting with each other is somehow out of place/hard to understand/whatever? Yes, this show doesn't have constant action. Yes, this show relies heavily on dialogue. So what? It's okay(I guess) to dislike that, but it isn't a bad thing in itself. It's like saying that Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is a bad show because it doesn't have a story.
This show has great artistry, great writing, brilliant direction, and fairly interesting story so far. You point out lack of the story as a supposed flaw, while it's clear that you just didn't put any effort in understanding it. Not that there's really a need for effort there, but if you've saying you slept through it then I don't really know what else to say. Maybe your attention span is just too short or something, I honestly have no idea.

I have a question:

About the crab:

Erious, you are completely incapable of seeing flaws in shows you like, and incapable of seeing good things in shows you hate.
That's quite a bold thing to say without any evidences to prove it.

Obviously, providing evidences would serve nothing. If it is true, then the poster will still deny it. If it's false, then it would expose you as a liar and a troll. Thus, the only thing that can result from this is a flame war and/or making yourself like a jerk. I wonder why you felt like pointing that out.

I know he said he thought it might be better to wait until the season us over.

I can understand the feeling. Each time i finish the episode, I want 10 more so I watch the previous episodes again.

l just watched the 2 first eps and l think it might actually be rather intresting, unusual in a way, l don't really like the art style but it's not bad so l'll let it slip, the story however reminds me a bit of Sola, just a bit tough, guess l reminisced about it slightly because it made an impression on me, teh second ep edned nicely, l liked the change in that girl, she looks really cute wit ha smile rather than being cold all the time.

She's not just cute, she's exactly the type of girl I want to hook up with. The way she makes me moan and squirm like a toddler anticipating mother's milk is... simply magical. Eh, you know, I think her performance in the second episode kinda unhinged my brain from the brainstem, and now I just don't know what the hell I'm talking about. I just can't begin to describe ... and I don't even know what the hell I'm supposed to describe. *strokes beards*

She just makes me feel so juvenile! >_< She's beyond awesome, and I'll donate the rest of my entire conscious life just to dream her move and talk, gahh~

Do you mean that the character are not realistic or the vampire/kami/ghost thing?

I'm sure her kind of personality exists in the real world, but the problem is that they are hard to find. There are just too many sheltered girls nowadays.

Really? Has not been my experience.

I mean, none has been as destructive and witty as her but that type of personality really exists... too often for my tastes...
