problem with login
« on: July 07, 2009, 04:53:14 AM »
I know i wasn't allowed to do this, but i had to create a new account to get help from the staff.  For some reason on my previous account InsaneLane I can't login, I know the cookies is enabled, the password is right, and my download/upload ratio is good.  So if you could please fix it or allow me to use the new account.

The account likely got pruned, since I can't find it.

See FAQ.

I too, cannot login for some odd unknown reason. Cookies are enabled (and working), the password is correct, and my account is still here as my torrent client is still uploading without a problem, I just cannot login. If I try to login in with a different (and incorrect) password, my browser (Mozilla Firefox 3.5.2) will redirect me to /login.php. When I login correctly, i simply get redirected to /index.php but not logged in, still as Guest. I'm not banned or anything, as seeding has not been hindered.

I have cleared everything, even did a clean install of Internet Explorer 8, Mozilla Firefox 3.5.2, Google Chrome 2.0.172.39, Safari 4.0.3 (531.9.1) and the login still fails. Malus tried logging in and it worked, but i still cannot do it on my end.

SeeYa32: Your profile tells me you logged in 17 hours ago. That leads me to believe that you did log in, but you were logged out again. I believe this is because of an IP change. Your IP address changed, and so you were logged out.

This is true, except it wasn't from this computer. I have an old laptop (very old  :-\ )  and it has an old version of Ubuntu (Linux) along with Firefox 1.x . I logged in from there, but i would like to not have to bring out that old clunker every time i want to log in  :)

In any case, joining #bakabt-support would probably lead to faster resolution of this problem.

In case anybody was wondering, the problem that I had a while ago was a flaw of Windows XP, as it was the only operating system that showed this inability to log in. This problem was fixed when I bought myself a version of Windows 7, and now I have no problems. So for those who have this problem, perhaps a new operating system :P

...or it was an issue with the install of XP you had.  I'm fairly certain that a wipe/reinstall of XP would've fixed it just as well.

Especially since I'm still running WinXP and haven't
had any problems with logging in ever, as long as
the site's up that is. I have a feeling I'm not the
only one ;)
