Kanamemo
« on: July 10, 2009, 02:09:16 PM »
Anyone see this yet?
I didn't expect too much, but it's a really enjoyable, mostly silly slice of life series, with female only main cast. In other words, for me it's like crack. Plus, yuri! And not some "more then friends" stuff, but an actual full-fledged lesbian couple. How often do you see that? It's worth watching for this alone.
It's rather funny, characters are likable, and if you can overlook some silliness in the premise, it's worth a try for every slice of life fan.
On the downside, the only group that released english subs so far isn't exactly the greatest.

Surprisingly enjoyable, really, and it might serve as the less serious slice of life of the season. Not much in terms of artistic quality, naturally, but it was actually fun to watch, so I'll be keeping tabs on this. The none too subtle lesbian relationship was an added bonus  ;)

After the second episode, it really is a nice series. Light hearted, funny and uplifting. I really love this kind of slice of life series.
But damn, when the tsundere girl from the other newspaper shows up, and it's Rie Kugimiya, it was the funniest moment of the episode.

I did get excited hearing Rie Kugimiya's voice :)

I delivered papers during middle school... boy, did that job suck.  Think getting up for school was hard, had to wake up really early to sort the papers and deliver them before most people woke up.  And right after school awaited the afternoon delivery.  Did it by foot, carrying two fully stuffed bags on each side to lessen return trips (I do thank my strong legs for that).  Many of the customers did want their paper delivered specially, like one thrown on the roof since he can walk out to it.  And I fully understand how certain customers avoid you during collections.  We were just children after all.

So far, one of the more enjoyable series this season.

A very funny show.  I hope it keeps the comedy going, because it is one of the funniest of the summer.

A very cute and funny show. Reminds me a bit of Azumanga Daiou.

If it keeps this up, it'll definitely become one of my favorites, not for just this summer, but all-time.

With episode 3, this show has gone beyond the level of comedy I expected, and Rie Kugimiya's character (heavy-handed as usual) is, well, still typical of her (was hoping for something more fun like Tacos), but her addition into the cast was a heck of a lot of fun.

Great show.Lots of lol  moments, especially with the aliens.I love the way the yuri scenes are treated. No adolescent "indirect kiss" thing that takes 2 episodes and no "is/isn't she,are/aren't they" crap that plague so many anime.
Anyway,I did notice something that ,so far, I haven't seen in a  romantic comedy  and that is reality, warped as it is.

As you can see I've become attached to the characters  ;D

Only if you count an image of a cat blocking your view of anything that might be kinda inappropriate, then yeh i guess it's censored :P

There's almost nothing to censor. This is not an ecchi show. If you think that censorship would somehow lower your enjoyment, then you have a wrong idea about this show and should probably watch something else.
Edit: Oh god episode 4 was awesome... Musicals ftw ;D
Too bad the animation is kinda awful... But I can forgive this much.

Episode 5 is out. I don't know what to say... I'm... I don't know... let me describe the content of this episode:
(click to show/hide)

Why didn't they leave this episode and made it into a DVD/BD-special called episode 5.5 or whatever. That is ridiculous!
