It definitely is the series of the season where I turn off my brain while watching. Though GA is a close second.

Actually, it was only like that in the beginning - near the end it became much less mindless humor-driven.
Anyway, since ep 13 is out - this needs second season, badly. Especially Kana and Mika's relationship needs more development. Kanamemo wasn't afraid of yuri from the beginning and
(click to show/hide)Mika obviously likes Kana; and after episode 10(when Kana cheered up only after meeting Mika) I started hoping that those feelings might be mutual. But for any development of that kind to happen, Kana first has to come to terms with her personal problems - since it's obvious she's not perfectly okay yet. There's also the part of what happened to Mika's family - they were rich but fell into poverty so deep that Mika has to work delivering papers, but it's never elaborated upon. And there's also Saki and Marimo - Marimo seems to be enjoying her life away from newspaper, but you can't say the same for Saki. In episode 12 I actually thought Marimo was coming back...
I really hope the sales are enough to warrant a second season - as I said before, it's a really enjoyable anime, and it would be a shame to let it end without any kind of closure.

Well, compared to some things where I have to concentrate and feel emotionally drained afterwards (e.g. Lain, Ergo Proxy...), this is pretty mindless. I feel it's actually a lot like Ichigo Mashimaro in tone. Humour with heart, and a strong c'est la vie-ness about it if that makes sense.
