Fallen Angels aka. Duo luo tian shi is one of my all time favourites. It's tells the story of three persons living on the darker side of Hong Kong. I find it fascinating. Seen it a lot of times and still not bored with it.
Chungking Express aka. Chung Hing sam lam is the pair movie of it. It tells the story of two cops and two women. This movie always manages to make me smile and gives that happy feeling inside.
All in all I find a lot of Wong Kar Wai's work very good. "The Days of Being Wild", "In the mood for love", "2046" are also very good in my opinion. If you're up for romance, affairs and such.
And to continue with the theme of bringing Swedish movies to the spotlight I did find
Fucking Åmål excellent when I saw it. But it has been some time so I should probably rewatch it. It tells the story of two teenage girls who deal with lots of different problems including their crush on each other. A pretty realistic way of portraying the teen age life of it's time.
*Sigh*
And if you're up for something Finnish I'd say watch
Dog Nail Clipper aka. Koirankynnen leikkaaja. It's a story about a man who suffers from brain injury. Due to it his he is looking for simple work that he can do. While he might be simple it doesn't stop him from pondering. Excellent movie.
I didn't notice "Kung Fu Hustle" having a mention yet. Who wouldn't love it?
EDIT: Just finished rewatching
Fucking Åmål and man it's good. It felt so real I could almost touch it. That could have been from my school. The young actors do a pretty good job. An excellent movie. Without a doubt.
