why would the all of a sudden do a 180 turn on their maintenance of their planes? What would make the boeing planes so special that they now get properly maintained when for decades the trend has been the opposite.

Because it's beneficial? What's good in keep crashing airplanes? It's not just that they don't want to. It's that they can't even if they wanted to.

Getting spare parts is the first step in improving maintenance. After that can we start addressing the bureaucratic issues.

so once again your at the same point you are now, the russians are willing to sell them parts but they neglect to properly maintain them.

Or maybe the parts they are selling are not enough?

There are limits to how much support Russia can give to Iran. It cannot help in everything. Russia's support still cannot help maintain the Boeing's better.

And if there's a reason why the Russian Tupolev airframe's structural integrity seems to be substantially inferior to the Boeing classes, it's because they were operating in a harsher environment. Before Russia transferred the Tupolev to Iran they were being used in the frigid Siberian airspace. Constant icing and de-icing gives a lot of mechanical stress to not just the airframe but also the engines, wheel, etc. It reduces their lifespan.

tough shit for iran, invest some money every couple of decades into new planes, it sucks but they are cheaper then the boeing planes so who cares
