Americans Split on Health Coverage, Obama down in Polls

--- Quote from: DrmChsr ---I wasn't actually referring about what Bush did, if I read your comment correctly. I was referring to the protesting that's going on because of Obama increasing the debt. Since they didn't protest Reaganomics, the War On Terror, and the deregulation of the global economy...
Their protesting sees to be extremely hypocritical and offensive. And this isn't about the whole evil socialism aspect (and yes, Singapore does seem to be an evil socialist nation, but it's actually a corporation.) they're pushing, since that's immediately offensive to almost everyone due to all that Hitler they managed to infuse it with.
I don't like debt myself (How to reduce your debt tip: Swap your credit cards for debit cards. Or better still, do without either.), and I think Obama may be wrong to increase the debt, but he's giving a lot of people a shot at affordable healthcare. Healthy people work longer and better and spend more money.
Dunno about the debt, though. Personally, I'm into taxing the crap outta the corporations, since they are the ones with the money, but there be problems if the taxation isn't implemented globally.

Hypocritical and offensive from your point of view, yes, but justified by theirs. A ton of people protested the things you listed.
I'm also too lazy to look up who also mentioned corporations moving as a scare tactic, name me 10 things you own that were made ENTIRELY in America? Hard to do, isn't it? Raise taxes on corporations? Up from the world-leading 35% we already have on our largest companies (39% for the middle of the pack)? You'll have even less American made products in your home. Increase importation, goodbye job market! Then we'll really be paying for everyone's health insurance because the public option would be the only option for the HORDE of unemployed Americans.

Two things in the news...
Mexico passes public option/free healthcare for US citizens before our own US congress:

And in other news,
77% of Americans support the 'choice' of a public option in health care. Remove the word choice and only 43% support it. Even though they are the same thing. 57% of people are morons....

Some people need to look up the definition of the word "option."
Also, @ the "Obama = Hitler" thing... since he hasn't (to my knowledge) started persecuting people based on race, religion, or creed the only things that are left are what Hitler managed to do with Germany's economy and industry. Hitler managed to take the German mark from being literally worth less than toilet paper to being a strong, stable currency. He restored pride of nation in a defeated people, rejected the (arguably unfair) sanctions and reparations that had been imposed on his country, and rebuilt his country as a strong industrial and military power. If it weren't for the fact he was a mass murdering fuckwad (something Obama has shown no indications of becoming) Hitler wouldn't have been that bad. As it was he was one of the most evil men in history and I, as a Jew, certainly believe the world would have been better off without him. But that doesn't mean he wasn't effective at rebuilding Germany.

yea obama is no hitler, hitler did way more positive for germany if you exclude the whole genocide thing, and count the construction of the autobahn and the other things hitler did. There was a reason he was times man of the year when it actually meant something. Nobody knew the whole genocide thing was coming next but hey bad deeds dont undo the good things he did

Seems Obama is up in the polls... In the rest of the world.
The verdict is in: President Barack Obama is popular around the world and improving the U.S.'s global image.
