Yes, though the fanservice aspect is slightly overrated, it's not like you see panties waving in your face all the time (click to show/hide)as the girls don't seem to be wearing any and even though Nodoka's boobs are certainly eye-catching, they don't distract you from the actual story (or so one would hope).
The DVDs are pretty much without censorship, but it'll take while before U-M has all of them subbed and released. Still, it's a show worth watching even with the censoring, so don't let that hold you back.

I loved Saki, but to be honest, Nodoka's boobs were so big that I couldn't help but laugh a bit whenever she tried to be serious or people try to be serious around her. She just looks absurd. I mean seriously, she's going to have some SERIOUS back problems when she grows up.

hu.. well i guess i'll hold off on watching it then, i hate watching censored stuff. It didn't look that ecchi to me from teh bit i saw but i never really looked into it

umm what?? lol why the hell is that under as poiler tag and im guessing that that fact would definatly put it into a cut/uncut version o_O

It's not an ecchi anime. At least I don't consider it as such, so waiting for an 'uncensored' version to watch this show probably wouldn't be worth it.
Rosaria+Vampire, queen's Blade, strike witches and sky girls are ecchi shows. Saki isn't. The ecchi in saki is more fan-service than a part of the show.

I fully agree that its more for fan service than being any part of the show other than (click to show/hide)the fact people notices who Nodoka is because of her boobs or people are jealous of them or something lol. Other than that I don't know what else could be part of the show and be ecchi in any way.
When I watched it, it was more for the story and mahjong. I was more hooked because of the storyline than anything else in it. To be honest you won't even notice the ecchi or possible ecchi that could be in it until you rewatch 2-3times or at least for me lol. I didn't even really notice it until someone pointed it out to me xD.
