Saki

Gonzo isn't doing much at the moment (thanks erious :P )  They were partially absorbed by their parent company.

But their successful IP's don't seem to be in limbo. Strike Witches 2 is being done by AIC and the last half of Saki was done by picture magic. Saki is based on a manga, so that helps it's chances. I think there will be a season 2, but given the time between strike witches seasons (3 1/2 years) and where the Saki manga is, it might be a year or 2... or 3.

Also, this was the last frame of the last episode:

Merged with old thread.

Gotta say, I hated Saki, it was awful Oo **ducks to avoid the burning chair**
Dropped at episode 8 or something I think, but maybe I'm not really objective, can't really think of an ecchi anime I actually liked or finished lol.

Your quote from another thread:

Saki is on the low end of the ecchi spectrum. Not even close to full blown ecchi shows like queens blade, or Rosario+Vampire. Saki did have a lot of moe-blob yuri. Perhaps that is what you meant?

Think hikaru no go stripped of all authenticity, replace every character with a moe moe lesbian, add in levelling and ridiculous avatar battles, subtract all panties, especially from the lolis, and suddenly remember it's about a board game just in time for the standard tournament arc.

It's a complete mess, but it's fun.  Much like strike witches before it.

This is a much better summary than slice of life. It is basically a fan service series that just happen to take place around mah-jong (whose rules you don't need to know).

hence why i've dropped it after three episodes (that was way more than it deserved already)
scrolled through the episodes a bit as well, i know i won't be missing anything
i was secretly hoping for an akagi approach but they are nothing alike

watching http://www.anime-planet.com/anime/shion-no-oh as well, so far that one seems ok, doesn't seem to be fan service/ecchi/no substance garbage
