Yup, it's on my list now! As soon as it finishes, I'm going to dig very hard into it ... extremely hard.
Wait for the DVDs. The TV versions are censored.

Tacos.

I lol'ed hard over that!

As for the series, the first episode was pretty good. I don't really follow the game all that well, but it's interesting regardless. What a serious Strike Witches vibe from the outfits (and the personality of the main girl) though! Hehe. I'll be watching this when the full batch is out :P

The censorship is quite light, though. Most of the stuff that's censored are the usual bathing scenes. It's very obvious that the girls don't wear panties in the TV versions and Nodoka's enormous boobs are still quite hard to miss (especially given that her shirt is - quite literally - a tight fit, especially when it's wet), even with censorship.

yessir watched a few more! and the show stays about mahjong! all the other stuff is still like an added bonus!
and even though i cant really keep up with the mahjong its VERY VERY dramatic, making it really entertaining.
almost like Yu-gi-oh dramatic life points and all.

oh yeahs and i like how the ONE girl has big tits and the other girls don't.
thats how it proly really is, like theres a few chesty girls and the rest are normal.
Cant wait for the uncensord version.

tatsujin thx!!( for nothin! ) thanks Sebur for the SIG!

I won't watch the DVD version. Nothing in the animation worth waiting for that much more quality in. Perhaps the better subs that should be out by then would make it worth it. Uncensored or not isn't what I watch it for. I mostly watch it for the semi-romance and that it has a slight sport flavour.

i dont watch the show for the service, but i'd rather watch it complete even with the little cut things added in.

im okay with watching the normal edition, but im still gonna get the directors cut.

and Mahjong is a mothafuckin sport in japan!
they got mahjong we got poker!

i think thats what most of its western watchers think.

thats why you should get the [Underwater-Mahjong] version it comes complete with built in definitions of all the mahjong jargon.

oh yeahs and at the part im at now... its gotten really good. it keeps you on the edge while you try to understand what going on. its done so dramatically you can feel it!

The rules for Japanese Mahjong is quite different when compared to the Chinese. Chinese play method is actually much easier.

It is a very good anime.  I just wish I knew Mahjong so I could know what the hell they were doing.  If they were playing poker or blackjack I could follow.  Heck, even checkers or chess...

i wouldnt picture chess or checkers in there. . .
not with all those special effects of pulling out a mahjong piece and flipping it in the air without seeing it and knowing what piece it is and then landing it with thunder on the table!
. . .
tho. . .your queen can fire up and start emmiting a flame as it moves trough the board and kills off a bishop or something

I think we're on to something here.. maybe pieces like rooks can fly across the board smashing into stuff and the bishops can turn into missiles when taking other pieces.

Back to tacos.. I mean Saki. I just finished episode 8, can't wait to see how the finals go. (I'm a bit behind because Underwater-Mahjong stalled for a few weeks or so)

I'm on episode 16 and they are in the last round of qualifications.

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

Tacos had one episode, Mako had one, and so did Hisa, Nodoka's match started at episode 13, if they're just going into Saki's match at 16, Nodoka had 3+ episodes, as such it's conceivable that Saki's might take quite a while.
