I would like to request the recent COR release of the Crusher Joe movie and OVA (click for AniDB link).

We currently have the ASS releases, here and here, but the image quality alone of the COR release seems to be much better.

I don't see any release other than ASS's on AniDB, nor do I see those titles on COR's site.  Where did you get the information that they released them?

As always, if it's just a matter of downloading and uploading something, I'll do it if no one else does.

EDIT: However, I doubt these are very much better than the .ogm-release by ASS. I will get those ASS-files from ftp to make a good comparison, but these first screenshots do seem a bit iffy.

Some comments on AniDB suggest the ASS release suffers from combing and subtitling issues, so perhaps this COR release will be better in that regard.

Hmm, perhaps I should've downloaded the files myself first...

I'll post a few comparison shots here. COR to the left, ASS to the right. Although this is not the Uploaders' Forum, I would like to hear if this is worth making an offer. As I see it, the COR encode suffers from a lot of the same problems as the ASS encode (combing, rainbows, macroblocking, jagged lines, jarred movement etc.), but it is a bit sharper and has more detail. One major point against COR is that it is slightly overcropped, showing less picture than the ASS encode.
