No, I'm not talking about either of the existing animes out, this is a new one featuring the Final Fantasy VII cast; Tale of the Abyss.

And it looks like it's animated by Madhouse by the looks of the video; hence the "mad" in the title.

Personally, I'm looking forward to this, at first glances the animation looks a little wierd, I liked Last Order's animation more, but if it's "mad" then they probably have a reason behind and I'm sure it'll work out for them.

l wouldn't mind seeing FFVII anime that would follow the story of the game, however the game is so fuckin long in story that it would actually take 6 hours to follow it, hence 3-4 movies or 26 series anime with skipping a few things or 44 eps to make it full, however as long as l don't see anything about an another anime from Square-Enix (the owners of the IP and all licences) this just doesn't add up.

and l didn't see anything about an anime on their site.

however l think l'm gonna cry, they are going to release a game combining all FF characters and anti-characters ;] for PSP, l sure hope for conversions but meh, it's Square-Enix, the yrarely do that, so l guess l'll have to go buy PSP ;]

yeh it does look good but it shows it's man made (not corporate) the framerate is odd (17fps even for youtube and the like they keep up with frames)

but the game has awesome characters

(the newest Square-Enix gem game of FF chars)
too bad it's gonna be just a fighting game l guess but a game like that with a story fora few hours to follow would be awesome, also FF7 remake would be apreciated, my PC is too fast for that game anymore

l stopped visiting their site often for 2 reasons:

1) they release too many good game and l want to cry l can't play them (l'm a PS/ps2/PC fan)
2) they don't want to re-make FF7

l visit their site ocasionally to see what they are up to, l noticed they joined forces again with Eidos, if l remember they were the ones to make the convertion from PSX to PC on FF7, l'm gonna hope for a new project about FF7, a re-make is what l hope for, l mean they (Square-Enix) released older FFs again, so maybe it's not that far off from making, tough they officially said they don't plan on remaking it yet,
that doesn't mean never, and imagine FF7 in HD graphics with untouched storyline, that would bring them an unqwelled milk party for milking money purposes, l mean, FF7 is second longest Final Fantasy game in FF franchiese (longest is FF6/3, third longest is FF12 in terms of content and plot)
and it's quite noticable that games aren't really that long, just beautiful in graphics theese days.

and most of the games now are "one-time-play" even if they are great they don't have what it takes to make you play them over and over, l for one played FF7 like 20 times, and FF8 like 12 times.
and other FFs a few times.

Anime about that game would be welcomed with open arms ;]

FF7AC is not about the game but about after the game if you want to ask about that.

Wow, that's a load of BS, it's not like Tales of the Abyss is a known game, I thought it was an anime. Besides the video quality isn't great so it's hard to see clearly that it's a parody.

Dunno. The Tales series itself is pretty popular. I'm not sure about Abyss itself, but they did use the opening from Tales of the Abyss.

Also the author's comments on it below the video should make it pretty clear it's a parody.

Edit: Anyways, it was still amusing to watch. Cloud/Zack pairing made me lawl.

If you have any substantial knowledge of the gaming industry, then the Tales series is one you'd be familiar with.

Quite amsuing, though two seconds of watching it'll make it obvious that it's the TotA OP, since they even re-used the song. Original for those who care to compare.

That's the thing, I don't and it's pretty ignorant to assume everyone's got the same knowledge/interest as yourself. My brother used to use the same expression "you should be shot". My GOD he sounded downright stupid.

Yeah, no reason to put hope in people, and then to crash their hopes once they read the topic. On a side note, I'd love to see more FFVII stuff, FFVIII and IX stuff would be even more welcome, but we probably won't see that. I'm not one of those people who thinks they're milking FF. I mean, Sqaure Enix wouldn't be making more if there wasn't any success with it, but they obviously have success. If you don't like it then don't play/watch it.

Even a manga of Final Fantasy VIII or IX would be awesome.

well that PSP game gievs some refresh on those titles even if there is small plot like in the usual arcade game like "Now we wil lsettle this... DIEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
and what nots, l will keep hoping for FF7 re-make cuz that was my favorite title, l stil lwait for FF13 to show up on shelves in europe to enjoy it as well, all pics l see are so amazing l just wanna take 3 weeks off and play this non-stop untill l die ;]

+ How they were able to change the location and characters. I'm not one to fall for paradies, but this one was extremely well made, imo; hence falling for it.

If they can nail down the story, enviorements and places, the graphics (colors, animation as well) and sound which is extremely important as well -- then sure. I'm a big fan of FF VII. Let's hope they don't screw this up. Anime I'm watching right now is Macross Frontier and it's so amazing in graphics, colors and animation. Anime needs to start converting to stuff like these (doesn't have to include CG graphics).
