Humour in Bleach (anime only)
manganime02:
Is it just me or does anybody else find most of the humour in Bleach quite frustrating and repetitive?
I’ve found that a large amount of the humour is generated from characters beating each other up in a slapstick manner. I’ve lost count of how many different characters do this.
Ichigo, Rukia and Ririn beating Kon,
Rukia beating Ichigo;
Ichigo fighting with his dad Isshin;
Ichigo’s sister and Isshin;
Kukaku and Ganju;
Hiyori beating Shinji, Urahara and Ichigo;
Stark and the little girl in his fraccion (Lilith I think her name is);
Keigo getting beats from Ichigo and mainly his sister;
Tatsuki and that girl that molests Inoue;
Soifon and Vice-Captain Omeada;
Nel headbutting Ichigo etc. etc. etc.
(Please feel free to add to this list)
I know slapstick fighting amongst allies is common in anime but seriously, how much do they want to overuse the same joke over and over? And even if they do think that it is really that funny, do they really need so many characters to act like this? Even in rival anime Naruto; I realised that it is predominantly only Sakura punching out Naruto when he does something silly but in Bleach I feel that very often it is uncalled for which further makes it annoying rather than funny; I mean just look at Hiyori.
On a separate note I also found the antics of Dondachakka, Pesche and Nel hard to tolerate, but as I said it may just be me?
Thank You for reading ;D

dude its funny because you always see it but sometimes it can get repetive but your noticing the small things to much.
and much bleach is more action, have you noticed the fight scenes are like dbz???

Yeah I had a feeling it was just me noticing minor things too much but that tends to happen when you start getting really fed up of something (not Bleach itself just the overused slapstick violence).
But in my personal opinion (I know not everyone will agree with this) I don't feel the fights are too much like DBZ, yes they are long but DBZ fights are much longer and probably less cliche in that I've realised in Bleach you get many many many more of the 'last minute saves' but then again that may just be me noticing small things too much since I didn't notice it as much in DBZ.
(click to show/hide)But one part which did REALLY remind me of DBZ was when Ullquiora and Yami first came to Karakura, it was so reminiscent of Vegeta and Nappa coming to Earth. And also when in DBZ, Namek was meant to blow in 5 minutes but took over an hour in Bleach, Ichigo was only meant to with-hold the vizard transformation for 11 secs but went for over a minute :D

(click to show/hide)Yeah, they're really not good at those time-things. Maybe they should include a clock just like there are in some RAWs so we can follow the animation and clock, though I suspect animation would be going too fast for them to animate so much in so little time. xD Though I think Namek would be easier to animate in 5 minutes than Ichigo's 11sec transformation.

I do enjoy the bleach fight scenes i agree though that some times the humor can be repetitive. Don't stop me watching it though.. :)
