Please don't toy with my feelings..

It was the perfect end of an arc, but it's not like the content after had no hope of one upping it or at least continuing the quality. The only issue is probably time. Even with years of material, the content isn't quite as definitive as the anime covered arcs, and the author releases slowly, running the risk of eventually catching up with him. Still, the later stuff would certainly be worth seeing animated.

Hmm, it may be like that Tech Demo that was made for Final Fantasy VII. Which source do you have that this is not a video game?

What would be the purpose of a tech demo for an traditional style anime? It looks like standard stuff. FFVII was to show off their CGI tech.

I wouldn't know, I was just thinking/speculating loud..

I'm sure it will be worth seeing animated, but for me, there's is NO chance it could come even close to the first... assuming it's going to be a direct continuation.
(click to show/hide)The ending is the best ending I've ever seen, albeit open-ended. C'mon, you know Guts is going to storm the castle, take out all of Griffith's cronies... then Griffith, rescue the mildly-insane Caska and finally break the curse. I can't imagine any animator doing justice to what I just envisioned in my head while typing that up. Yes, it would be a clean ending with closure, but it can't top the ending of just knowing that Guts is somehow going to pull off the impossible.
Would I watch the sequel? Yeah. But I know I'd regret it after I did.

You make it sound as if this happens like in the next chapter or something. The series is up to 33 volumes and I don't think it's ending anytime soon. The anime only covers 13. A new anime wouldn't likely have enough episodes to cover what's already been done, much less end the series.
