Berserk to Get Theatrical Anime Film in 2011

The February issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Newtype magazine is announcing on Saturday that the previously revealed Berserk project will begin with a theatrical film that will open in 2011. According to Newtype, the 2011 film will be the first part of a project that will adapt the entire story from Kentarou Miura's manga.

I'm so ready for this. I'm not really too interested in the TV series, but this so-called epic story with updated animation plus a full adaptation? Oh yeah. Though this must mean the manga will be ending soon or near in the future.

So we get a movie and then a 2nd season? That's awesome! I'm really excited about both, I might start reading the manga just to "get in the mood".

Now, when they say: "the 2011 film will be the first part of a project that will adapt the entire story..." What do you guys think that means? That the movie's the 1st of many or the movie will sorta set up the 2nd season? I think it's probably the latter. Whichever the case, great news.

Wow that is good news. The manga doesn't seem like it's going to end soon though. But that won't matter. If they adapt the entire story, it'll take them ages to catch up.

Here's to hoping there will be a TV series after the movie.

i dunno it looks like a movie and full metal alch brotherhood. IE redoing the show better faster stronger and with better animation

because they will probably tell it over a long time period, like 5+ years in witch time the manga MAY be close to finished... or they will just stop when they reach an end of an arc and just make another season whenever the manga is finished

Sweeeeeeeeet! Kills two birds with one stone. Been meaning to start Berserk but couldn't get over the ancient graphics, hope they buy enough episodes to integrate season 2.
