you cant comment on the story being inferior until the work is completed  in its entirety. Judging a partial story is the same as judging the book by its cover

Must be short books your reading when the cover is 1/3 of the book...

Well, after watching EP4, I think they are following the Manga as best they can story wise.

Going out on a limb again, i am enjoying the Anime so far.

They just took 3 episodes to try to add some backstory and character development the manga was sorely lacking.  Aside from that they just rearranged a few minor events, *maybe* added the unnecessary amnesia segment (since the manga has been updating backstory as it goes along, and only about half of it has been translated into english, it's hard to tell if they just added it to explain some oddities, or if the mangakka used the same solution himself before the producer had to do it for him).  So far it's been more enjoyable than its source material.  I just hope they keep going with it.

Fine, fine. There's progress with the story. Now things are getting interesting. I don't mind the rearrangements as long as these changes don't affect the core of the respective stories.

EDIT: VB5

Now things are getting along :)

Ep 5, it is back to the manga and the who do you trust arc.

On a seperate note, does anyone think that they made Mina's hair blonde instead of pink to add to the cognitive dissonance of the character?

I have been enjoying this series so far... It's making me glad I never got around to reading the chapters that I downloaded. That way I get to watch the anime with no bias and just enjoy it for what it is.

Was it ever pink to begin with?

just started this. not so bad. start was a bit unexpected, but ep 2 is going along more conventional and predictable paths.

Edit: Akira is so going to end up on the sex offenders list by the end of this series =P

EDIT: BAH. episode 3 almost comfirms this will be another highschool type anime. i think that almost comfirms this one's gonna go down the drain (in my books at least), unless they eventually go off this course.

For some unknown uninteresting reason I find this show very uninteresting.

just because recent episodes too kplace in the high school doesn't make it a 'high school" genre anime, the main topic of the series is the bund she wants, and since they are at this age, it would be rather weird not attending a school at all. Japaneese doesn't want to promote idiocy bu not attending schools, if you look into it, even Durarara takes some of action in school, is that a school genre anime for yo uas well ?

Actually, the girl vampire has the body of an elementary school kid, had an actual age of something much older than humanly possible, and yet for some odd reason she attends high school. Owning the school or not, the show lost 10 points in my book when this all went down. Not calling this a high school anime just yet, but I honestly preferred the ridiculousness of the first 2 episodes over what has been happening recently.

Don't worry, this is just the first arc.

Aneroph, you should drop the show because it will never be the same as it was in the first two episodes.

Nikran, they will leave the schoolgrounds soon.

;_; They censored her...

Nah, I didn't say I hated it, just thought it was better when it wasn't so cliche.

IMO i assumed she was in highschool to be with akira, who she is pretty obviously in love with to some extent.

that IS the case actually, l think she runs the school only for the bund effort tough as she mentioned it herself, she is long living existance but Akira isn't, l think she had placed him there or something like that anyways.

Yes, take a look at the manga.

I did, and I don't get your point. Show me a full-color inner page that shows her with pink hair then.

Ah, lol :D

Sorry, the manga doesn't have any colored pages >_> My mistake

Only the covers are colored.

As long as I don't see a full-color page of her with pink hair, I trust that the anime got it right. I'd say blond hair certainly fits her. It's not that much of a big deal, so let's leave at this.

Anyway, as to why she's in that school, I assume it's because she wants to be sure Akira doesn't run off with some other girl, should he desire to do so. However, I also think she wants to stick true to her cause: promote human-vampire interaction. She may be thinking that if she shows her goodwill by mingling amongst humans herself, people will accept her kind faster.

That this doesn't seem to be working so well is mostly because people are scared of the vampires and because certain vampires have apparently decided to go against their ruler's wish and attack (random) people, thus making people think she is behind it.
