Dunno about the manga but this is how it was in the anime.

I figured you might have meant that.

I forgot what it was about, but it's not that she was cloning herself or something like that. I'm sure she would've mentioned it to him if so.

@Iazarus: The love story was almost entirely taken from the manga, so at the very least SHAFT did that part right. Stuff gets more serious after the halfway point, though.

More serious is an understatement. Damn, it's so hard waiting for the next volume.
Also, Mina is so badass I can't believe it. I especially loved it when she killed the pedophile.

Demons run when a good man goes to war. Night will fall and drown the sun, when a good man goes to war. Friendship dies and true love lies, night will fall and the dark will rise, when a good man goes to war. Demons run but count the cost, the battle's won, but the child is lost.

Finally watched it. Wasn't anything ground breaking, but I liked it plenty. And obviously the voice acting was fantastic, some great seiyuu there. I love Yuuki Aoi :)

Dance of the Vampire Bund - Tiny files
I know DOTVB isn't allowed here, but had an odd thing happen. I got a release of it in 1080 and the indivual episode files are about 100megs. They seem to play fine and are nice and crisp, but how the heck can they be so small? The files say SFW-Chihiro.

You need your eyes examined if you think those files look "nice and crisp". You should hurry, it sounds serious.

Anime Out has a specific method of encoding anime that produces smaller files. Looks like they've been reincoding lots of stuff to be very compressed, but still have very high quality. Typical DVD episode 60megs, 720p 80megs and 1020p 100megs. That sits a lot better on your hard drive or writable media.

Yes, they do have a specific method: lower bitrate. It's not that hard. And if you think those are "very high quality" you either have bad eyes or a very small screen. There is no way to get a 1280x720p 20 minute video file to 80 MB and for it to still look good unless it's 20 minutes of talking heads. For those who'd sacrifice quality for space, I guess it's OK, but if you are one of those people, why are you downloading BD rips anyway? Obviously, quality does not matter to you.

Back on topic, I checked out volumes 11 and 12 in Japanese. HOLY SHIT guys, this thing kicks into overdrive HARD.

Wow as said earlier volumes 9 and 10 were very good.

Used the cbr format and viewer for the first time with those too, surely beats web readers. Not sure I love Comical that much for the cbr reader app tho, need to try others.

I set up my old 19" S-IPS non-wide LCD rotated to portrait for manga viewing, result was very good. My 24" TN widescreen doesn't rotate, and TNs while ideal for games and video aren't as good for static viewing. A single page of manga fits almost perfectly into the 1024x1280 space.

I watched this while it was airing. I just recently rewatched it in the English dub. I actually think I liked the dub more.

The same is not true for all things though... Hated Clannad's dub. Made it not even funny...
