Blizzard needs to say FU to China and make Pandorians a playable race instead of Worgens imo.

Pandas? (If it's Lore related... then I would have NO clue)

Yup, Pandas.  Pandaren Brewmasters... I believe they were some mercs in WC 3.

I'm not sure if you've read this or not, but I figure it's of the interest of people likely to read this thread:
Repost of Blizzard post in the alpha stage of WoW about future expansions

Obviously, they've decided to make a few changes to their original plan. But it seems fairly correct nontheless. They're introducing Worgen and Goblins now, which might be a promotional change. The original image seemed to be Worgen (Wolfenhold) going to the Horde, and Pandarens going to the Alliance. Perhaps they gave up on Pandaren altogether for now. WoW is already facing serious issues in China.

Ask and you shall receive, a Panderan Monk mini-pet has now been added to the game in the most recent PTR patch.

Could you explain please? Why would having a panda character be an issue? And what issues are they facing in China?... Its like saying your not allowed to kill the eagles in Grizzly Hills because they are the National bird of america. It's only a game and they are not making a bad name for panda's, if anything it will be promoting them.

Is this a joke?   China's getting pissed over pandas?

I want to get a panda, kill it, and burn it.

Nothing.

This is really hard for me to word correctly so heres my best shot

China has a law that does not allow pandas to be shown dying / hurt due to them being an endangered animal and native to China.

Thus Guild Wars and WoW had to drop their combat panda pets (of which both had during beta tests if I recall) because they were able to be killed in game.  However, Guild Wars added a noncombat Panda pet and apparently WoW is too.

So Blizzard would have to choose...   Have a Pandas/Pandarens in game... or lose all of their chinese market...

I understand why they would feel this way, thank you for clarifying   ;D

Since the Panda issue seems to have been cleared up, here's a link about the current issues WoW is facing in China. Chinese players have been playing for free until the game has been properly censored.

um, essentially, in China, Pandas are belived to be one of the Divine animals, tehrefore their law critically protects them in evey possible way, Blizzard had a lot of troubl;e with WC3TFT where there was a Pandaren Brewmaster Mercenary hero to employ in game and it was fighting and getting hit.

Argh .......... I need some help. I just went to see the armory and my old guild still kept me. Their name is Excelcius on Kirin Tor. I wish I never went there in the first place. I don't wanna go back to that game. The feelings I have is to be with them and raid. They're top of the line guild on the server. Heh ... I need to relax.

Quitting WoW is like breaking up with a significant other… if you don’t make it a clean, permanent sort of break, you’re keeping open the possibility of getting back together with that ex.  Like many others, I found that it was very difficult to break the WoW addiction, but once I finally did, I became a lot happier.  I've been WoW-free since 12/19/08.

Before December, I quit and rejoined the game 4 or 5 times.  My breaks were typically for 1 to 2 months.  I finally figured it out that it wasn't necessarily the game play that was addictive, it was the game play with people that I liked that was the big attraction.  I know that's not exactly a huge revelation for an MMO, but in December, my general dissatisfaction with the game plus a falling out with my guild made it easy to put the game behind me once and for all.
It took an hour to write; I figured it'd take an hour to read.

Ok ok.   I'll be a little more level-headed.

Panda to-do list:

1. Hang it.
2. Disembowel it.
3. Behead it.
4. Impale it.  ( You know, vlad-style - from the back end, thru the neck-hole.   Remember, I beheaded it. )
5. Decapitate it.
6. Burn it, using a gas-soaked chinese flag.
7. Put stereotypical Chinese Pandas in WoW.

It's not really that they made a specific law against killing pandas as part of a fantasy game that has many other aspects. As I've understood it, it's a ban on all art promoting Pandas being hurt or mistreated. I am not sure of whether the law is true or not, and neither has Blizzard (to my knowledge) confirmed that Pandaren won't be playable/killable in WoW.

I don't really find the ban weird, considering their efforts to keep those animals alive. And as posted, Blizzard is currently struggling with decayed corpses and dead head icons in WoW, since there is a ban on images of bones and dead bodyparts and such. I don't really see the big problem with any such images myself, though.

With the splitting of the barrens there are going to be some places that you are not going to be able to get to on a land mount and other are going to underwater.

I'm suspecting that either they are going to make World Explorer a Feat of Strength or redo some of the areas that you need to explore.

The things I like to find are outside references of WoW.  Example: Bambie, Flower & Thumper in Grizzly Hills.  Also I'm an achievement junky too.
