KimiKiss Pure Rouge
« on: August 25, 2009, 01:51:49 PM »
I just watched this and it was fantastic (found it through a recommendation on MAL after looking through Hatsukoi Limited, both animated by J.C.Staff whom do quite a number of good animations for shows, which would explain why I thought I saw similiarities when viewing it)

Nice love story, good music that helps create the mood, good characters.

As random bonuses it had voice actors from some of my favourite shows, i.e. from school rumble the Tsukamoto sisters whom also in Kimikiss had a close relationship with each other as well (on a side note I stumble upon a pic of someone cosplaying as tenma :o

Sakino's voice was also voiced by the character of Kyou from Clannad.

heh I thought it was a good 10/10, but Mr.AniDB says 7.5

Will check out the manga when it is finished online.

Also one of my favorites. I've seen the TV version and I know the DVD version is uploaded (and I have it). I want to watch the DVD version so badly. Don't thinkt here is anything censored anyways. But still, Futami (the girl with the black hair) is so damn  :D !!!

It is a great series and the ending is quite unexpected in that way that these kind of series normally end the other way round. I was quite surprised but positively. The love interests are both cute and lovely.

I think the manga is quite different from the anime, well at least that's the conclusion I've come to after reading the description.

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

I really enjoyed watching Kimikiss too. I can't say it was a very good anime, but rather decent from most points of view. It reminded me of True Tears, another bittersweet romantic anime.

Isn't there a group doing the DVD version for School Days? The one I have has crappy quality considering that I moved on from the avi/xvid formats to mkv (mostly 720-1080p). They should release it in Blu-ray. =[

My favorite character in KimiKiss is Futami, what about you guys?

It's almost as if there are 2 JC Staffs. 1 studio known for flashy/shiny animation in shows like Excel Saga, Rune Soldier, Ikki-Tousen, Starship Operators, and Shana, and another for low-key, "washed-out" shows like Honey & Clover, Bokura ga Ita, Kimikiss, and Hatsukoi Limited. Not that the second style is inherently bad, it's just not what I think of when I think "JC Staff."

Kimikiss was all right, but I didn't care for the glacially slow development of the main relationship. Ending felt a little forced, but not that bad compared to similar shows I've seen. But I have to respect it for introducing anime-original male characters that actually get involved with some of the girls. A lot of VN-based anime stray too far into cheesy harem territory when they try to include numerous female characters who fall for the lead in completely separate game story paths. And I've never liked how those "male sidekick" characters usually get treated. I mean come on, cut a guy a break already, damnit! Think Youhei Sunohara in Clannad, Jun Kitagawa in Kanon, and Taro Yamada in Sister Princess. Granted, they're amusing, but with all these girls around, you'd think they should catch some luck somewhere.

True Tears also did the same thing with original male characters, and did better on the dramatic front.

Got any old fansubs on HDD/DVD/CD? Please take a look at this thread.

The art and animation in True Tears were so damn good, made me drool many times! I love how they focused perfectly on the character's eyes in True Tears. I like the ending too.  ;)

I'd freaking get it and take zillions of pictures of it. I'd make an area just for it and nothing else but that Blu-ray disk in a see-through glass cabinet! lmao!!!!!!!

Lol I would get the actual Blu-ray and have it in a glass case. Then go find the torrent and watch it a few times. I think it would be a shame to have it not be watched. xD
