I'm not really interested in the Initial D franchise for myself, but I was looking through what we had on BBT while reporting this old HK DVD-rip torrent from the adoption list. Turns out that several torrents could be replaced with better versions, so I'm requesting any improvements that people can or want to offer.

First Stage: We have a4e, but there are lots of bad comments about encoding and subtitle issues. Possible replacements would be Baka-Anime (576x432 XviD mkv) or Anime-Supreme (576x432 XviD mkv / 640x480 h264 mkv). a-S would be better if one of their staff can upload it. I know it's a bit of a resolution loss, but maybe the improved encoding makes up for it? Plus a4e is partially ogm.

Second Stage: We have a dual-audio version by AniMecha (576x432 XviD mkv) -- the logical replacement there would be B-A's 640x480 XviD mkv release. There is no complete h264 version, unless a4e unstalls it. There's also a fansub version by Anime-Forever-Fansubs that could be uploaded; there's no sub-only version on bbt at the moment.

Third Stage: We have this file, an HKDVD-rip. Central Anime's v2 release would be a vast improvement, or there's also an FXM release that has CA's and Hungarian subs.

Battle Stage: We have Soldats' version, which is at least not an HK rip. But there's a version by OMFG (One Man Fansub Group) that's DVD/XviD as opposed to Soldats' DivX3/DTV.

Extra Stage: All we have is an HK DVD-rip that combines both eps into 1 file. Best replacement would be B-A's 640x480 h264 mkv release. a-S has similar specs, but a much lower video bitrate.

Everything else in the franchise is new enough that good fansubs exist. Although there is an h264 version of 4th Stage by CA that could go up alongside the L-E&ide XviD release.

Sorry for bumbing old thread but just wanna add that it would be great to see those a-S versions of first and second stage upped. Those are one of the first anime series I saw back when I started by exchanging vcd's by mail and I've started to feel I'd like to rewatch the first series with little better quality. So hopefully a-S staff sees this if this thread has been buried and it's gone unnoticed ;D

ok, i will offer them.

however, as i already have two in pending list (yobi and a huge 1080p release),
i will really need help in seeding. so people who want to boost their ratio,
get these releases from a-S irc and be prepared seed :D
