Where does it say that ADV/Sec23 lost the Clannad license? And I wouldn't count on seeing a dub for YUA 2 or any of those other new shows. ADV hasn't dubbed a single thing since the big license-switch debacle in July 2008.

Got any old fansubs on HDD/DVD/CD? Please take a look at this thread.

_ At first it seemed like a marriage made in heaven. Sojitz brought to ADV a ton of resources and connections in Japan. Unfortunately it quickly became evident that ADV's management style and Sojitz' were so incompatible that they would not be able to continue working together. After about 1-year they ended the relationship, and in the process ADV lost the rights to distribute virtually all the titles that had been acquired during that 1 year, as those titles were actually licensed to ARM Corp and not ADV. One thing that didn't change is that Sojitz continued to own 20% of A.D.Vision, Inc. This is a big problem because it's very, very hard for a corporation with a major hostile shareholder to acquire financing or investment. _

the only anime affected were Appleseed, Clannad and Ghost Hound.

edit: i think i read it wrong (tired ) adv was a distributor not licensed ?

ADV never had the license for Clannad. Otherwise you won't see it uploaded here. All of the new additions to ADV's catalog were licensed through Sentai Filmworks

ADV never had the license. Sentai Filmworks has it and ADV distributes it. I have the DVD right here. XD

I believe you're reading that article wrong. The part that mentions Clannad is the following:

Quote
It may be important to note that the press release doesn't state anything about the titles owned by Switchblade FIlms or Sentai Filmworks. These include all the recent additions to ADV's catalog such as Appleseed, Clannad and Ghost Hound.

Before that in the article, they're describing what each new company has taken of ADV. Basically what I read it as is that the current status of the distribution agreement between Sentai and ADV is unknown.

I would feel it was a safe assumption that since the new company is handling Sentai Filmworks properties, that any of the old ones handled by ADV are handled by the new company.  Also having read up on it from ANN, does anyone else get the feeling corporate shenigans just took place?

Although Sentai Filmworks is/was very close to ADV, and is one of the 4 succeeding companies of ADV, so it may happen that we will remove Sentai's titles too.
