But start asking them about sex, and I'm sure they'll be able to answer every questions with high rate of precision and accuracy.  ;D

Actually that's all we need to proliferate as a species.

nahh... you don't need to know a lot about sex to do it... I doubt that most average people in most countries would be able to answer questions like "what is a diaphragm?" "how do you correctly place it?" "is circumcision related to penile or cervical cancer?" "what is an Eiffel-tower in the bedroom?" or many more questions like these correctly... much less with precision and accuracy. All that matters in the end is "I stick my thingie into hole thingy"... nothing more than that needed.

But even then, there are a few possibilities, which thingy and which hole thingy... Oh dear.

Hooray for selective editing...

I'd rather see an uncut version of this...  Then we would be able to actually deduce how retarded "The Average American" is.

Because this is rather insulting :P (I will admit, it was pretty funny from time to time, but its pretty insulting that they're showing this as what "The Average American" is.  Because if you judge by the average answers in this video, then 100% of the USA is retarded and I know that isn't true.)

Every time I see this thing I just shake my head and sigh.

Also, that game posted? The dartboard one? It fails to account for the fact that there are cities with the same name in multiple states in the USA (I dropped a flag on one side of the country next to a city I knew existed but it wanted a city by the same name on the other side of the US).

The linear nature of your Euclidean geometry both confounds and befuddles me.

Springfield anyone?  :)

( Makes me wonder how many Buttes we have in the USA. )

--- you've got to admit though.   There are plenty of these "winners" here.

Or else that guy would have had a hard time pulling that off sitting in the same spot.

Oh those Europeans are so smart.

Besides - what good will being familiar with the likes of ( I'm going off the top of my head here )

- Kevin Rudd
- Gordon Brown
- Angela Merkel
- Medvedev (* don't remember his first name. )
- Koizumi
- Berlusconi
- etc ...

... besides impressing some European journalist/comedian - or getting a nod from a bunch of people who listen to NPR.

Knowing my geography - that hasn't ... oh wait, actually it does me good to know that Ghana, Chad, and Nigeria are all neighbors - and no-ship/no-sell zones.  :P

I guess knowing that stuff comes in handy.

But what should be REALLY scary - is these people work somewhere.  These people handle stuff like ... maybe your medical records - and ... *gasp* ... it's frightening.

I have to admit that I laughed to the point of suffocation when that black man said 'Canada' when the guy asked for which country to invade next. XDDD

He might have been onto something though. They have shit tons of resources and have the second largest oil reserves in the world.

So yeah. LETS INVADE CANADA BITCHES. FOHFOH, I'M COMING FOR YOUR OIL!

Bring it on. But how quickly do you think Russia and China would join in the fray if they realized that no reprecussions would ensue for the forceful removal of resources? ;)

WWR would commence. World war Resources.

But yes, people have stated that Canada will eat the world in around 50 years. Fight not for oil, but fresh water. (Plus all the random raw stuff we have in our area).

Now, if we could manufacture shit ourselves and sell, we'd lose a lot less money. (Ship shit to USA/China, they build and ship it back to us. HOORAY!)

Wait, lemme rephrase that.

Canada will sit on a gold mine in about 50 years because we will need other resources instead of oil.

I don't know about the whole of America, since I don't do that much traveling, but when I think of the average East Texan, I think of something like this:

He's completely ignorant of anything outside his own little world, and he doesn't really care.  So long as nothing endangers the status quo around him, the rest of the world can go to hell.  He's deluded himself into thinking pro-sports is important, and is too apathetic and lazy to bother with things like maintaining his health or learning new skills.  He's unable to have an intelligent conversation, so he surrounds himself with people just like him.  He will try to give his opinion and advice to everybody whenever he can because it makes him feel better about himself.

Not knowing about Pound Sterling is pretty bad. Not being able to find Middle Eastern countries and countries like Korea on a map; somewhat okay, confusing them with Australia; WHAT!!??

Seriously, Not being able to pinpoint certain contries is quite understandable. But being mislead into confusing the Middle East, Europe and Asia with Australia  ??? Come on.

But it is comedy, let's not take it too serious (except for the Austalians amongst us).

However,  that triangle thing has to be sorted out though, come on!!!

Perhaps this is why people are so amazed when I tell them my major was International Relations  :-\

Is it that amazing that an American knows more than one language and is aware of geo-political issues outside of the western hemisphere?

And most of all...can we be absolutely sure the persons interviewed were not permanent residents in mental institutions and/or vagabonds?

I would like to see some background checks done to make sure these individuals actually hold down a job and are contributing members to the society before we verify what they know about society.

I mean what is the purpose of a street bum knowing the location of New Zealand?

Yeah. Source: internet forums. (not exclusive to Bakabt)

I mean what is the purpose of a street bum knowing the location of New Zealand?

There is a better chance that this particular individual will become a more productive member of the American society.

Hm, for example, not knowing where NZ is located preemptively eliminates the possibility of that particular individual becoming a competent politician.

I beg to differ. There are many Southern Senators today who would be very hard pressed to locate Japan on a map. Their excuse is that they are a baby boomer and daddy didn't talk much about the war. :)

And you think those Senators who don't know where Japan is are competent politicians? lol

I'm not saying that they are all gonna be incompetent, but incompetence is more likely.
