The Average American

Wait, lemme rephrase that.

Canada will sit on a gold mine in about 50 years because we will need other resources instead of oil.

Semnae:
I don't know about the whole of America, since I don't do that much traveling, but when I think of the average East Texan, I think of something like this:

He's completely ignorant of anything outside his own little world, and he doesn't really care.  So long as nothing endangers the status quo around him, the rest of the world can go to hell.  He's deluded himself into thinking pro-sports is important, and is too apathetic and lazy to bother with things like maintaining his health or learning new skills.  He's unable to have an intelligent conversation, so he surrounds himself with people just like him.  He will try to give his opinion and advice to everybody whenever he can because it makes him feel better about himself.

Seriously, Not being able to pinpoint certain contries is quite understandable. But being mislead into confusing the Middle East, Europe and Asia with Australia  ??? Come on.

But it is comedy, let's not take it too serious (except for the Austalians amongst us).

However,  that triangle thing has to be sorted out though, come on!!!

Perhaps this is why people are so amazed when I tell them my major was International Relations  :-\

Is it that amazing that an American knows more than one language and is aware of geo-political issues outside of the western hemisphere?

And most of all...can we be absolutely sure the persons interviewed were not permanent residents in mental institutions and/or vagabonds?

I would like to see some background checks done to make sure these individuals actually hold down a job and are contributing members to the society before we verify what they know about society.

I mean what is the purpose of a street bum knowing the location of New Zealand?

There is a better chance that this particular individual will become a more productive member of the American society.
