While the healthcare debate rages on, President Obama is preparing for the next big ticket item on the Democrat agenda: education reform. He will be speaking directly to school children via a national broadcast on Tuesday, which has caused a great deal of controversy. Although I've never heard of a teacher getting in trouble for discussing politics with students, it is generally accepted in the United States that teaching public school children their personal political views is off limits. This is to prevent situations like in Cuba and North Korea, where school children are literally raised to support the leader in power. Still, nobody complains when a president visits a classroom and reads to children. Airing Obama's broadcast is both at the schools discretion and the parents also have the choice to opt out. Is this acceptable as a PR event?
