Aegisub & Blu-ray & Overclocking CPU

(1/9) > >>

Tatsujin:
I'm trying to time some files I have with Blu-ray videos (and flac sounds). My problem is that it skips every other second so I asked Sakura and she tried to help me. I reduced the lag/skip but now I need it to be as accurate as possible. The video with the subs that is, so I can time it correctly. And sometimes the sound repeats itself in a weird way. I've got a very good computer, I just need to know if this is normal for Blu-ray videos (1080p) or is there a way to make the graphics very smooth with lag/skipping and no sound issues? Aegisub doesn't seem to be using my Core 2 Quad processors to the max either, usually 1/3rd almost half the output for all 4 CPU's.

You sure it's not a setting issue outside of the player?

Another website I go to...

--- Quote ---Windows Vista/7 Tweak

Windows Vista/7 no longer uses Hardware Video Overlay to accelerate video while Aero is enabled (it uses VMR instead). Your video quality and playback will be choppy and slow, even if you have high end hardware like a Dual/Quad core CPU. AERO is all that eye-candy which includes all those fancy 3D effects that is part of the GUI.

For smooth playback, we suggest you use the Basic Themes and disable AERO altogether.

There's supposed to be another thing you can disable (beyond just the AERO issue thing) but I forget what it was....

Basic themes? I doubt it. I'm changing the name of the thread. What's a good program to overclock your CPU? This is the fan I am using:

First time to overclock something.

Programs to overclock? I thought it was just settings tweaking in the bios....

I saw it once, I didn't touch it and I thought it would be dangerous to do so (or something). I'll have to play around with it this weekend, if I get the air duster to clean inside my computer.
