Windows XP SP3. Complete fail?

In other words, blame MS for things that actually are their fault (plenty of that to go around already).

Just make sure that you get a XP CD image ripped off from a hologram disc, not just any random disc XP disc you find lying around.
As far as for looking in the installation disc of Windows XP: Any CD without an i386 folder, but replaced with one huge disk image file (eg. Ghost, etc.) will be an obvious red-flag for malware bundled edition of XP.
psyren:
I slipstreamed SP3 into my WinXP Pro installation disc.
Is good.
Is very good.
Lupin:
Both pirated and legitimate SP3 installation will work if done correctly. The only problem I could think of that you can encounter is the 0xCE stop error that occurs in AMD powered computers. And that was fixed by a patch released by microsoft.
Drew:
I had XP SP3 dual-booted with Vista before I switched to Windows 7, and never had any issues with it. I've had both legal and illegal copies, and never had any problems, so...
Buy a Mac, I guess? They'll coddle you and hold your hand when you get frightened by the big, scary PCs.
mgz:
unless you had one the HP laptops that magically stopped working with SP3 that was already fixed, your a fucking retard if you cant make it work properly
