Switching pc's...
« on: September 06, 2009, 07:13:43 PM »
I just bought a new desktop to torrent stuff. so two questions.

1) What torrent program runs on x64.

and

2) How can i somehow get my current seeding torrents off of utorrent 1.8.3 to the desktop and continue seeding without re-downloading
the files and further killing ratio.

1) Sorry, I have no experience with x64 PCs (not yet^^) but I guess any torrent program would work.

2) I think it's enough to copy all the anime you're seeding and the .torrent-files to your new PC and start seeding. Shouldn't be a problem.

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

1)I believe all the torrent programs would work.

2)Take all the actual files and move it to the desktop and place it in your torrent folder(where all your torrents go to when you download). Then just go to the torrent on box and click the download button and it should just recheck all the files and then you're set to seed again. Just make sure you don't seed from both PC since that is against the rules.

Don't worry about running 64-bit. I've been running 64-bit Windows since XP, and the only programs that don't work are Microsoft stuff that has been hard coded to not run on 64-bit Windows versions. You'll also need 64-bit specific anti-virus if you run that stuff. All other programs shouldn't even realize or care that they're running in a 64-bit environment.

btw: 64bit os CAN execute/run a 32bit program...

though a 16bit program like running on DOS wont do... so beware

but i guess utorrent is a 32bit application (x86) so you can use it on 64bit (x64) OS
