I'd requested Anime-MX's release of Midori Days awhile ago, mainly because MX included the Songs/Signs subtitle track and the currently-on-BBT B-A release does not. Which is bad on B-A's part, because given the availability of the better-subbed A-E TV-fansubs and the sub-only HQ KAA release, who's going to be DLing dual-audio Midori Days releases other than English dub watchers? But since no one was able to upload the MX release, this E-D v2 release should be fine. Really, even their v1 release would've been better than B-A's, since I doubt dub watchers would've cared about the imagesubs.
Dual audio usually competes with dual audio, not with single audio. Personally, I'd never replace a modern KAA encode with E-D, but that's because I'm partial to readable subtitles, actual typesetting, and reasonable file sizes, and I don't care about English audio.
Um, what? For whatever aesthetic flaws vobsubs may have, they are quite readable. In fact, they're
designed that way -- that particular saturation of yellow doesn't often show up in media, thus avoiding background-blending problems. But it's a moot point, since the v2s htears is asking about have unstyled .srt subs anyway.
The question here is, did KAA do "enhancements" over the R1 subs? Because in other cases like Chobits and Gundam Seed, KAA's versions still stayed up. So perhaps someone who's seen KAA's Midori Days can tell us if they did karaoke, subtitle editing, and typesetting.
