After watching Bartender I found myself becoming a chronic alcoholic...

HA HA HA! Oh man. This one I wholeheartedly agree. I remember randomly buying a bottle of Ballentines just because I remembered seeing it on Bartender.

I check between episodes or 5 of anime (depends on if I am in a debate on a different forum or not) otherwise I check this as I go about doing other web browsing and other stuff as well as my o0ther forum that is highly used.
When Cookies become alcoholics the world has issues, oh wait that has already happened!
When I was growing up I wanted to become a queen, now that I did, I have to avoid brats chasing me with bats.

Mines a fair few more than that at the moment. But then I'm continuously stuck at my computer desk atm doing uni work ready for Tuesday.

You should have seen these forums in the "insanity mode" back in the day. You could leave for 5 minutes and miss out on a 5 page thread discussion.

Yeah, I do check the forums fairly often too. Especially when I'm at work and have nothing to do.
One recently developed obsession that I forgot about: Touhou. I was aware of the existence of Touhou for a long time now, but since I'm not a fan of shmups(since I really suck at them), I didn't pay it much attention. One day when I was bored, I downloaded a single touhou doujin from Solelo's website... and I was hooked. Week passed, and I had read 7+ gigabytes of touhou doujins, browsed over 3000 pages of touhou images on danbooru, saving many of them(and my usual art browsing is by artist, and not character/series, not to mention I very rarely save images from the web), and wished I could live in Gensokyo. And I never really thought that about any fictional place, not even when I was a kid.
So yeah, I gone off the deep end. By now I started playing the games, listen to the music,  oh, and PATCHOULI IS MAI WAIFU.
>_>

Hmm I have had the opposite reaction to Touhou, the doujins, especially the anime one, have made me avoid anything to do with the series/characters. I still want to use a 10 foot pole to touch those things. ^^

Oh and I taught myself go after watching hikaru no go the second time and still not getting the rules. As most people I dropped it at the stage when one is still learning. ^^

I just can't let that slide...  ;D
How many doujins have you read, pray tell? Let's put the Maikaze's anime aside for now, it's more a fanservice for existing Touhou fans than anything else(and the guy who did the character designs should be shot), but there's a massive amount of doujins of wildly varying character and quality. My non-ero Touhou doujin folder contains over 600 files by about 150 circles... Varying from comedy, pure slice of life, yuri, straight romance(well, that's not much of that), all the way to action packed battle manga. Since the creators are varied, their interpretations are varied too. Here's a perfect example:
Take 1: http://danbooru.donmai.us/post/show/180760
Take 2: http://danbooru.donmai.us/post/show/180761
There are basically to legitimate reasons to dislike all(or at least most) of touhou doujins - one is dislike of an all-girls cast, which is the case most of the time, second would be unwillingness to accepts many different takes on the same characters. Because there's not that much text in the games, Most of the character's personalities come from the doujin creators themselves, and even some of the personality traits apparent in the official materials are often ignored.
But if none of that is a problem to you, then there's a vast amount of wildly varied, often brilliant manga just waiting to be explored. But because of how vast it is, it might be hard to get started - the sheer amount of characters is often confusing, and a lot of doujins are aimed at people already highly familiar with the setting and all the related memes.  I'll try to start a touhou thread over the weekend, including some good doujins to start with.

I think anime truly released my over obsession in the way that I "consume" my anime and dramas and other stuff.

Initial D caused me to take the mountain roads instead of the highways to get to places.
K-On made me want to watch more music anime and soon I wanted to learn how to play Bass guitar.
Hayate No Gotoku made me want to become a butler.  :P

And finally let it be noted that I yelled 'Death Cannon', during a volley goal from 25m out, at my football game, after watching Soul Eater. I have never seen so many people stare at me with a blank look on their face. I think everyone was less concerned about the goal more concerned on whether or not I was right in the head.  ;D

K-On did definitely strengthen the interest I already had in wanting to learn an instrument, well two. I have wanted to learn both the keyboard and bass/guitar for about a year and a half now. Though I use to be a major kid for drums, I guess I grew out of that and to different tastes.

I recall some blank looks when I stated some guy was using the "hitman style" IRL boxing after watching Hajime no Ippo.

I'm still contemplating special names for some sports shots. Mikuru beamu anyone? xD

We don't have Nagato to save people if the beam goes wild though :P

Well let me correct myself, we won't have a Nagato right on hand.
