You don't clean your CPU's fan at all?

I've had my laptop for over 4 years, just replaced the ram in it about a month ago, and to do so I had to pretty much take the computer apart. My fan had a very small bit of dust on it and everything else was clean. The keyboard collects dirt from my fingers, but other than that I have never had to clean my laptop.

Yea, laptops are a different thing. I never owned one and I never heard of people cleaning their laptops from inside, unlike a Desktop PC.

I was just wondering if he really never cleaned his CPU's fan. It must be clogged up with dust.

i designed the heatflow in the case pretty nicely so all active fans (two, most of the time running in idle-mode) are covered from falling dust and no real place for dust to gather.
aside from that it's not like i've set up a grinding machine beside the pc to produce dust.
in what kind of environment do you guys life where the cleaning of fans is actually needed? o.O - i still have a 133 Mhz never-cleaned Pentium standing around with only a little dust inside.
i guess it's literary about how much wind someone makes with his pc. :) (more air movement, more dust is raised, more dust gets in and sticks...)

scotsman:
In the 4 or 5 years I've had the PC I have never cleaned it out. I reckon I need to at least clean the fan it's gotten way to loud, also a lot of dust seems to come out or clogs up these little holes it the side.
I think it's more likely small rooms and less air movement so the dust settles like mine.

Tatsujin:
I can't believe you people. Well, I keep my computer clean. I want this one to live for the next 5 or 6 years until something better than Core i7 comes out.
