Rosario to Vampire Series
« on: September 09, 2009, 02:26:47 AM »
S1 | S2

Saw the first season a long time ago. Saw two episode of the second season and freaking dunked it away when I saw all the retarded censorship in episodes 3 and beyond. Now, season 2 was just released in DVD formats on TT. I'm grabbing it now and awaiting patiently for it to finish. I'll watch it after or during Turn A Gundam. I'm a big fan of the series! All the ecchi and vampire! This is like a light version of Dance in the Vampire Bund tho' Vampire Bund has a more serious art work, design and gore (with loli and ecchi, of course).

Fyi, there's threads like Vampire to Rosario -- Quick Question and Rosario to Vampire S3. Might as well just make one thread and keep everything generated under one rather than been scattered all over the place like Code Geass (do a search on it, I can't link it off).

I don't really dig ecchii that much, but I followed season one, and I followed season 2. It kind of has a Zero no Tsukaima vibe to it that I like. Tough to explain. Anything affiliated with Nana Mizuki though (OP and plays moka!), I will take note of. ;)

(by the way, if anyone can find a clip of her performing Discoteque live, I'd be impressed.)

Yeah I was kinda hoping for the video of her performing it at live fighter 2009. It exists, it was on youtube like a day later, but taken down within a day. I didn't get a chance to grab it... :(

Not sure what I liked so much about this anime but I burned through it when I first saw it 'bout a year ago. I think that the second season, albeit entertaining, was a trainwreck though.

As for the DVD's whose version is it? m33w's?

Either them or Chihiro. One of Chihiro said they did a horrible job with the subs and would re edit them for the DVD version. But currently they are stalled. Last episode is 9.

I watched Chihiro the first time around and I don't remember it being that bad.

The styled subs were... bearable but there were grammatical mistakes in almost (if not in every) episode and sometimes iirc correctly they forgot to sub some scenes. I am so grateful that Kristen has brought Chihiro on a new much better level :)

It was the season during which they drastically improved. I remember grammatical mistakes but I don't remember any missed scenes or translations were pretty fluid - it didn't feel like it was written by a six years old like some speedsubs I ran into once upon a time. Though, that was a long time ago so I might have forgotten about some of the mistakes they made.

I won't say it was high, top notch quality, but it's certainly watchable. Especially considering m33w are still not done yet.

That's true. Iirc, m33w aren't even finished with the TV version, are they?

They gave up on the TV and decided to wait for the DVDs since they were slowpokes and that there was insane censorship.

The silly thing about censorship in R+V2 is that the skirts are sometimes longer. XD

Ok, it seems I lost track of what they were releasing then...

Which episode(s) need(s) to be done yet?

thats because Chihiro is more serious, and you need to have some knowledge of japanese language to see the errors really, l'm no expert but l talked with Kirsten about it (their previous work when the ywere still speed subs) and right now they are for quality, even if it takes a while, tough you have to remember that chihiro is a very small group compared to others and it still does a hellova great work ;]

l'm planning to watch the series of this title soon, l just finished Shakugan no Shana second, it feels there should be a third season, just ovas won't cut it, an dnow l'm bearing CodeGeas all predictable plot, if it wasn't for the mech fights this series would be so dull.

Borror0, are you sure that m.3.3.w is doing the DVD versions? I just checked aniDB and they list only the DTV and HDTV version solely done by m.3.3.w.

Check TT people, that's where I always check first for anime that's not on BBT.

Well, I remembered for m33w announcing that they stopped the subbing because the censor was just too much, and that they would wait for the DVDs. After going through almost one year of blogging, I learned that they decided to wait until the TV rips were done. -_-'

I like m33w, but I don't follow them on that one.

I just don't see the point in taking the time to do the TV rips if the DVD is out.
