Seems to be genuine. What do you think? By BONES (almost) always means good stuff.

I don't know if I should say this is a bad idea or good.
Halo=good
Anime=good
But I don't know adding them together. Looks interesting that is one thing for sure.

Been looking forward to it for over a month now.

I used to play a lot of Halo (1) on local networks with my friends back in the days. I've played the story through on Halo 2 as well, but that's sort of where I left the Xbox society. I know there is a lot of bashing about Halo because it's viewed by many as an easy FPS, but for those who really spent a bit time in it know that the story has potential. And for the record, I'm not a fanatic. I have not played Halo 3 or Halo Wars, nor have I read any books related to the franchise.

Studio4°C is probably my biggest reason for looking forward to this, but Toei Animation, Bones and Production I.G. is certainly just making the hype greater. The trailer looks awesome. Here's a summary of what it's all about. It seems like the production will be something à la Animatrix. And the stories will be set in the Halo universe, standalone from the rest of the series. There will probably be references to known events, I guess, but they're supposed to be viewable by anyone.

Yep, this is legit. Announced at the most recent Comic Con IIRC. Can't fucking wait. Some big names here.

Now if they could just get on with the live action movie, especially after that most recent commercial...

looks sweet.  I"m always game for something new.  I hope for big things.

Though I haven't played halo in forever, I wonder if this is a build up for the new halo next year?
I have typed these words and you have been forced to read them.  Now you can go cry in the corner if you like :)

As long as it can live up to my cinematic expectation of the battle above Reach and Sigma Octanus, I'm all eyes and ears.

The Glassing of Reach.... will be AWESOME. I wonder which studio will cover that segment?

Since it will deal with panning/rendering a planetary environment, it will most likely be P.I.G. They produced most photo-realistic background scenes to date.

Hm, I'm just wondering... Is this gonna be a 3DCGI/classic hybrid?

Life? Heroism does not end with life! Just look at the fields before you! Great deeds as ever they were!

It looks like a few shorts incorporate CGI to some extent, and one appears to be all CGI.

l'm more interested in Mass Effect than Halo series, at the very least Mass Effect can really kick you ass with it's story and so on, and the game isn't as easy as it seems, you can easily die, l didn't die even once in Halo, was it just too easy l can't say, but i twasn't hard. l aggree that a story in Halo was interesting but gameplay is also important, if the game is too easy it simply fails.

l dunno if the anime will be good, we wil ljust have to wait for it then. 2010 isn't that far away now.

Anyone else that's NOT all that interested in a Halo live action movie? I mean, really, the way action movies have been lately in America, I don't think I would even bother dropping $10 just to see it if it came out.

If this was a Diablo anime, I'd be stirred a bit more. But ... Halo?! ... Seriously man, Halo is already dead since Halo 2 ended. More Halo games is just killing the franchises itself. Yet to make an anime and a live action and and and ... ?! ... That's it? Stay away from American shit, Japan ... stay away from it.

Its set up similar to Batman: Gotham Knight and The Animatrix

I dunno.. I'm interested (Halo went down hill after the first one though) but I'm not expecting too much (Most of the back story in the Halo novels was lifted straight out of Ender's Game)

Here's to hoping for something worth watching :P

Is it still considered anime since Halo is US?

If anime is about japanese characters than I guess it'd work but how does this work?
