gotham knight was sick.

Especially the The Batman Nobody Knows adaptation.
I remember watching that episode on Batman: The Animated Series and it really struck a chord with me

1337 was waaaay over-the-top. It was pretty easy to see where it had drawn inspiration from. I've yet to see the others.

im a bit confused about this.. was the original recording English or Japanese? I was gonna check this out but i hear even if you watch it subbed, the subs are actually 'dubtitles' and not even close to what the japanese audio track is saying. To anyone whos seen it, is this true?

Which has me wondering, was it originally dubbed in japanese or English? Seems kinda pointless to watch it subbed if the subs are gonna be just basically a CC hearing impared version of the dub track.

well I finally decided I'd take a chance and actually watch Halo legends (seeing as how I dled both versions already) I made it to the first one and couldnt take it anymore, dunno if the last 4 have anything that makes halo awesome in them but the first 5 didnt.  I mean I havent even sen the master chief in a real scene yet, and everything is all dialoge and artsy shit...I just want some badass master chief action!!! *sigh*I just flipped through the last 3 and it seems the action I'm after is hiding in those ones...I'm slightly less bitter now (btw I'm a huge halo fan :D)

It's hardly about Master Chief at all, though there are some Spartans. It was said before it aired that it would be fairly stand-alone.

The following is not really a spoiler, but I chose to hide it in case people want to watch the episodes completely blind. It's a short list of what each episode goes into. Mainly for logos.

@logos: Seems like you should give "The Package" a watch. Very action-oriented.. ;)

i dunno ive watched most of it, the series is fucking garbage IMO. The animating is done well, but it jumps around so much its fucking silly. There isnt any sort of continuity that ive seen so far and ive only got the like 1 episode to go.
It just doesnt seem like a serious as much as it could just be fucking unlocked footage from a game for half of them

Are you trying to find a common plot? For me, each episode was a stand alone except those that span two episodes.

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

Agreeing with newy.

The episodes were made by different studios so of course there's gonna be different storylines and animation, same case with Batman and Animatrix. Expecting  anything else is silly. Also, not a TV series, it's an OVA.

And the diversity makes it so there's probably at least one episode you'll like whether you're into action-packed scenes, artsy animation or old tales.

seriously? you and dagger both, I appreciate the effort or w/e, but if you actually read my post I went through the last few (numerically 6+7+8, therefore 'the package', 'prototype', and 'babysitter') and as I said above I find those more to my expectation and liking. So why did you post saying I would like the ones with action in them, something that I quite clearly stated?

Anyways, on topic I watched the last 3 all the way through and liked them, overall 'the duel' and the spoof one made me wanna shoot a baby, and the origins were just retarded for anyone thats actually played the games. I think I wish I never watched them in the first place, I kinda feel like they betray the Halo universe, actually I think I'll delete them as soon as I hit a 2.0 ratio on the 2 versions I downloaded.

and as a stand alone most of them still sucked a bag of dicks in terms of story plot and how each were executed

As a big fan of Halo, I was really glad when I found out an anime adaptation is being in the works. At this very moment I watched only "Origins", and it made my eyes water. Really, what possibly can be better than your favourite game taken in your favourite (well, almost) art form? Cheers for Halo Legends.

How about a live-action film?

Oh wait.

Well. I remember all the talking, awesome (from what I've seen) pre-production work by Neill Blomkamp and Peter Jackson, and my enthusiasm about it. And I'm fucking dissapointed with current situation.

I don't really care for it tbh, I think I broke it off after 5 episodes aswell though xD Maybe I should take another look at the final 3...

I tried Halo 1 & 2, thought they were shit (basically 3 different guns and 3 types of enemy, endless ammo and endless amounts of enemies, repetetive as hell...), and hence didn't think much of the first episodes trying to tie an artsy fartsy storyline around this bland fps. I sat through it some more but dropped it after 4 or 5 episodes due to severe lack of decent action and a surpluss of pretentious "storyline"... bleh

And Gotham Knight was indeed sick, Animatrix meets Batman :)

that being thanks to batman having HUGE amounts of potential storylines to go with since its well an actual story and not a game that is meant to only have enough details to keep you kinda interested.
