If you look at the other laser pointers on sale, the red laser is $7.99 and the green laser is 69.99, so this one is just another 10 times more expensive. ;)

EDIT: Just found this, I don't see that much difference in the colour, and it's much cheaper.

Just before anyone gets hurt while playing with Blu-ray lasers:
Quote from: Hack n Mod
Important: This is a class 3B laser and should be used with care. Proper eye protection for 405nm wavelength recommended. It can instantly damage the eye if it is pointed directly into the eye. Even reflections can cause eye damage.
Quote from: Wikipedia
Class 3B

A Class 3B laser is hazardous if the eye is exposed directly, but diffuse reflections such as from paper or other matte surfaces are not harmful. Continuous lasers in the wavelength range from 315 nm to far infrared are limited to 0.5 W. For pulsed lasers between 400 and 700 nm, the limit is 30 mJ. Other limits apply to other wavelengths and to ultrashort pulsed lasers. Protective eyewear is typically required where direct viewing of a class 3B laser beam may occur. Class-3B lasers must be equipped with a key switch and a safety interlock.

405nm is/almost is UV, much harder to see than 473nm(blue), that's why it's cheaper.

Even at 20mw it can easily burn our retinas.

All you have to do is study it out. Just study it out.

I just realized you can use the bluray laser to build your own phaser

uhhh, I'm pretty sure phasers are particle accelerators, not lasers at all.

Since they don't shoot beams that move at the speed of light.

The linear nature of your Euclidean geometry both confounds and befuddles me.

Phasers are indeed particle beam weapons, firing Treknobabble particles. http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Phaser
