your request.   as far the layout i use the following:
top right bar- iStat menus.  this handles the bandwith, %'s.  cpu/memory/hard drive etc.  other choices include fan temps etc.

dock icons:     i use Candybar to change them.   to change from 3d to 2d Dock open Terminal
then type in:   defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -boolean YES
                    killall Dock

wall in brown & gray.  i am glad you enjoy the walls.

actually i use a prior version of iStat that was free.   but it's totally worth the price.
i have paid for Candybar.  another great program i paid for is 1Password.

btw- let me know if you need an avatar.  every1 should have one.  ^^

Desktop-wise, I'm a minimalist.  I've avoided the standard clutter of icons by hiding them in a pop-up menu.  It works for me!

As far as I'm concerned, one of Elina Vance's endearing characteristics is her emulation of cats — in her attire, spirit and soldiering.  I also think she's adorably cute.
