(click to show/hide)And tell me honestly, did you know from season 1 why or how it all lead to the same conclusion ? in first season nothing, absolutely nothing hinted at what the nurse was aiming for.

I realize they were done completely differently, that's what I was complaining about.

(click to show/hide)And yes, there was a pretty fucking big hint when the time of death didn't match. Her exact motivation may not have been revealed, but that she was masterminding things on a local level was pretty clear.

Havoc10K:
Yes she was, but why ? that was left unanswered until very late of Season 2. Even in the games you still didn't know what the fuck was going on until the very end and that is why this series is a masterpiece that is more popular than School Days (same time airing and Higurashi was popular enough to get more than 2 games) to net 2 seasons and 2 fanservice seasons.

I dare you, when was it known that the nurse had exactly that in mind ? cuz her motivation was unknown until the second half of the second season, and her being involved was unknown until the very late in season 1.

You're not paying attention to what I write. Please read it more carefully in the future before you make even more of a fool of yourself by telling me things I wrote in the post just before your own.

As for her motivation: It was the most cliché Japanese thing imaginable and not deserving of being called a plot twist or in any way surprising.

Havoc10K:
Incredible, I did read it, and that is why I replied like that. I re-watched the series many times and in S1 there is no hint for her motivation and to why Rika gets that all the time. You been watching so hard you are mixing up everything.

I said that myself? Yes, I do indeed believe I said that myself. Here, in the spoiler:

BUT her motivation fails the second criterion I brought up in this post. "For my dead (adoptive) grandfather's honour" does not constitute "surprising".

And why Rika "gets it" was revealed. It doesn't matter whether you call her a reincarnation of Oyashiro-sama or a Queen Carrier, it's made clear that if she dies, things go completely to hell, it's plain as day that there is an organisation that wants things to go completely to hell, and it's strongly implied that Takano Miyo is behind it on the local level at least. Did you seriously not get all that just from watching Higu-ni?

Being told there's a behaviour-altering parasite is just adding sciencebabble, not a surprising twist, especially after parasites were already mentioned towards the end of Higu-ni.
